JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
Essential Duties
1. Take the lead in site surveys, evaluation of site specific requirements and proactive design and execution of project work packages.
2. Participate in the planning, FEED, EPC, and Commissioning of the Pipeline and related facilities e.g. heating stations
3. Supervise technical studies and surveys, including site investigations, not limited to geological, geophysical, geotechnical, hydrological and logistical surveys
4. To represent the Contractor in meetings with partners, authorities and other stakeholders, as may be required.
5. Analyse design data and prepare designs of earthworks, foundations, and drainage, concrete and steel structures.
6. Prepare scope of works, specifications, bill of quantities and call for tender documents
7. Ensuring Health, Safety and Environment requirements are taken into consideration during planning, design, construction and operation.
8. Ensure that work scopes are carried out in line with current National Regulations and Project standards, including seismic codes, and obtain derogations for any deviations required.
9. Ensure quality assurance and quality control of all material tests on the project and ensure that test records are accurately referenced to location.
10. Lead, organize and manage contractors to assure that project safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives are attained
11. Liaise and co-ordinate activities with the other technical disciplines on the project, contractors and local authorities.

Qualification:
• Honors bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering is an added advantage.

Experience:
• A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience as a Civil / Structural Engineer on industrial and/or public works infrastructure projects, specifically site investigations, design, procurement, work package development, construction supervision, and inspection.
• Experience in Project Management is an added advantage.
• Working knowledge of related engineering disciplines i.e. Civil, Structural, Transportation, Hydraulic, Geotechnical, Land Development, Environmental, and Construction is an added advantage.
• Capability to safely and effectively lead a team of staff, contractors and vendors to a successful project outcome.
• Proven ability to:
o Read and understand engineering manuals and codes;
o Perform engineering calculations including, but not limited to earthworks, foundations, drainage, concrete and steel design;
o Interpret site plans, structural drawings.
• Proficiency in the application of Specialized Civil / Structural Engineering software e.g. AutoCAD, Prokon, STAAD, etc.
