Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, ambitious and dynamic candidate to join the rapidly expanding team. The Senior HR Manager will perform on the following:
• Grievance and disciplinary
• Leave management
• Understanding the HR policies and labour laws
• Manage the trade unions
• Performance management
• HR Policy implementation
• Industrial relations
• HR Information Systems (HRIS)
• Benefits and Payroll
• Training and Development; Training Needs assessment, drafting training plan, arranging for training, training evaluation and Training Impact Assessment
• Health and safety; supervision to ensure compliance, incident/ accident investigation, liaise with ISO Systems coordinator to implement any OSH developments.
• Human resource information system; developing and updating various databases
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
• Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in HR Management preferably in East Africa.
• Minimum degree qualification in HR and or industrial/organisational psychology from a well-known institute.
• Relevant experience in successfully managing employee and trade union relations.
• Broad awareness of Uganda employment law and implication.
• Competent in current HR practices and policies.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience of MS Power point and Word, internet and email.
• Be self-driven and self-motivated.
• Be able to work against tight work schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong knowledge of the Ugandan market and proven work experience in cultural context of East Africa is preferable.
Work will be based primarily at the offices, in Kampala with a frequent requirement to travel to different parts of the country.
