Job details: The National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) is established by the National Agricultural Research Act 2005 as a body corporate responsible for the coordination and oversight of all aspects of agricultural research in Uganda. The Director General invites suitably qualified Ugandans to apply for the following positions at NARO Secretariat, Entebbe. Job Title: SENIOR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OFFICER 1 post
Reports to: Deputy Director General, Agricultural Technology Promotion
Salary Grade: UR 4

Purpose
To provide leadership and guidance in identifying and protecting NARO products with potential for commercialization, and ensuring that rewards and benefits are shared according to policy guidelines.

Minimum qualifications, experience and desired attributes.

• Applicants should be Ugandans holding a good Bachelor's degree in agriculture, biological and environmental sciences plus a Master's degree focusing on intellectual property rights from a recognized university. 
• Should have at least a minimum of four years proven experience in managing and promoting application of IPR benefit organizations and individuals. Should have demonstrable working experience of commercializing intellectual property rights. 
• Good report writing and communication skills. 
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work, and timely produce accurate results in an environment with multiple and challenging tasks to be handled simultaneously.
