Job Purpose:
The position holder will conduct immunology research and analyze subsequent results using immune-informatics tools.

Roles & Responsibilities
Principal duties;
• Demonstrate Participate in development of immune-informatics analysis pipelines for projects generating big immunology data;
• Conduct immune-informatics analyses of cytometry, microarray, metabolomics, and other serological big data, with the support of supervisors;
• Find and read literature relevant to the work;
• Participate in sharing knowledge through laboratory meetings and journal clubs;
• Participate in writing publications, and present work at national and international meetings;
• Assist in capacity building by demonstrating immune-informatics analytical procedures to new staff and to students on attachments; and,
• Help with other laboratory procedures and projects as and when required by the line manager

Line Management
The post holder Provide mentorship to one or more laboratory technologists undertaking immune-informatics analyses

Person Specification
• Maters in in Bioinformatics- or data science-related subject;
• Bachelors in biological sciences-related field;
• GCLP training/ current Allied Health Professions license;
• Should possess at least 1 year working on an immune-informatics related project;
• At least 3 years conducting wet laboratory research in a recognized research institution, prior to their immune-informatics project experience;
• Basic knowledge in analysis of one of 1) high-dimensional single cell data, 2) big proteomic or metabolic data; and,
• Advanced knowledge in use of R or Python programming languages.
