JOB DETAILS:
B JOB DESCRIPTION

B1 Overall purpose of the job.
To oversee and carry out major repairs/overhauling and maintenance of all types of tractors, road-making machines, front-end loaders 500 kva gen sets among other agricultural implements.

Key Responsibilities
1. Assess and test working conditions of all machines.
2. Oversee other mechanics in the actual repairs and troubleshooting of heavy and light machines independently
1. 3. Identify faults in machines that were not mentioned in the job card and carryout all the repairs accordingly.
3. Arrange spare parts in case of any machine breakdowns.
4. Arrange spares and overhaul the machine as per Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) standard.
5. Test and recommend the working conditions of machines before they are finally driven to the field.
6. Train other mechanics in understanding and running electronic systems and software installed on the new models/latest equipment.
7. Assist the Supervisor to plan and stock spares for future requirements.
8. Record all spares used in machines to complete repairs, prepare and submit a related report to the Supervisor.
9. Oversee the cleaning of the work area and ensure it is clean at all times.
10. Oversee the washing of tractors especially those that have been worked on.
11. Adhering to the safety, Health and Environmental policy of the company
12. Performing any other duty as maybe assigned by supervisor Workshop/Management from time to time.

C Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
C1.1 Education:
• A National Certificate in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering or advanced Motor Vehicle Certificate part II from a recognized institution.

C1.2 Experience, Skills and Competences:
1. Good communication skills
2. With a good personality (appealing)

Communication Skills:
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate with team members and the management.
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing.
