JOB DETAILS:
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology; or Atmospheric Sciences recognized University/Institution. OR An Honours Bachelor’s Degree with a bias in Physics; or Mathematics; or Statistics; or Hydrology; or Computer Science; or Agriculture plus a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Meteorology from a recognized University/Institution.

Working Experience
Applicants should have minimum of three (3) years of relevant working experience at the level of Meteorologist or equivalent level of experience in Government or a reputable Organization

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Meteorologist for performing the following duties:-
- Supervising the installation, maintenance, and calibration of meteorological instruments, including weather stations, radar systems, and satellite equipment,
- Monitoring the conditions and functioning of all meteorological instruments and systems and their adherence to established standards,
- Providing technical guidance and support for troubleshooting and repairing meteorological equipment,
- Monitoring instrument performance and implement necessary adjustments or upgrades,
- Conducting accuracy and reliability checks of data collected from meteorological instruments,
- Implementing quality control procedures to verify data integrity and address any discrepancies,
- Maintaining comprehensive records of equipment maintenance, calibration, and performance,
- Preparing reports on instrument performance and any technical issues encountered,
- Training and supervising meteorological officers and technical staff in the use and maintenance of meteorological instruments;

- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
