PEAS (Promoting Equality in African Schools) is social enterprise with a mission to expand access to sustainably delivered, quality secondary education across Africa'. PEAS establishes and operates affordable secondary schools in Uganda and Zambia in areas where access to quality secondary education is limited due to cost and geographical barriers. PEAS launched an ambitious strategy in 2021, aimed at expanding Access to Quality education, ensuring schools are Sustainable and investing in systems strengthening. With over 30 secondary schools in Uganda educating over 15,000 students, 40 staff at the Country Office and 900 staff working in the network schools, PEAS intend to expand its geographical coverage and impact by recruiting in various positions: PEAS Uganda is seeking to fill the following vacancies:

Job Title: Senior People & Culture Officer
Reporting to: Head of School Network
Location: Country Office-Kampala

Job Summary:
A key deliverer of operational human resource management including planning, resourcing, and coordination of the entire HR function at schools through participating directly, providing information and guidance for decision making to school leadership and staff throughout the PEAS network of schools.

Experience and Qualification
• The applicant should possess a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or other related fields.
• Completion of human resource development courses at post graduate level and/or including any HR certification from reputable institutions.
• Minimum of two years' experience as Human Resources Officer
• 2 years of experience in a similar role for a large dynamic and fastgrowing organisation specific job-related experience in operational human resource management, knowledge of employment laws in Uganda, performance management, staff training and development, interpersonal relations, good understanding of school operations and education sector in Uganda.

Personal attributes and Skills
• Demonstrate relevant abilities in supervision, team building, problem solving and counselling
• Effectively communicate basic and complex HR principles to a wide team and build confidence in approaches being used
• Be a good negotiator and influencer with ability to empower others to excel at their jobs, embrace change and make ethical decisions. Ability to organise own work, and to manage time and resources effectively
• Ability to foresee the training needs of the school's human resource and develop materials that a wide range of employees will respond well to. With a range of learning styles and interests in the workforce
• Experience of undertaking regular risk assessments of human resource function in schools
• Demonstrable experience of sustaining productive working relations with multi-stakeholders
• Experience of providing distance support to remotely located offices/ persons
• Excellent verbal and writing skills in English
