We seek to recruit a Senior Program Officer, will work closely with the country senior staff to identify potential intervention areas for PATH in Uganda and or globally, landscaping for potential opportunities, participate in strategic meetings in Uganda and generate innovative ideas for public health intervention in the country. This position is based in Kampala.

specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • In collaboration with the Country Director, lead the implementation of the Uganda strategic plan that includes linking us with key program leaders at Headquarters —Seattle.
  •  Participate in writing and submission of funding proposals.
  • Networking for purposes of PATH growth in Uganda.
  • Undertake short term activities identified under the strategic plan as the priorities for Uganda.
  • Evaluate the feasibility of introducing health technologies in Uganda and the African region.
  • Track and inform in-country staff and key partners on PATH innovations and their development milestones.
  • Working with stakeholders, develop strategic documents for prevention of cervical cancer.
  • Organizing national and regional meetings as need arises
  •  Provide liaison with Ministry of Health and related institutions on PATH health technologies.
  •  Provide medical advice to other projects in Uganda as needed or directed by Country Program Leader.

Required skills;

  • Medical Doctor preferred with Master's degree in public health or any other related field.
  • At least 7 years of total experience implementing health projects in Uganda.
  • Experience working with major donor awards is preferred.
  • Experience in development of logical frameworks.
  • Well-organized and attention to details with good strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work well under deadlines and flexible/adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
