Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology; or Botany; or Applied Biology; or Biology; or Entomology; or Parasitology; or Vector Biology; or Geographical Sciences; or Animal Health and Production; or Animal Production and Management from a recognized University/Institution. Possession of a Post Graduate qualification in the above fields is added advantage

Working Experience
Applicants should have minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience in the field and Trypanosomiasis Control / Elimination at Research Officer Level in Government equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Principal Research Officer for performing the following duties:-

- Coordinating implementation of plans, programmes and strategies for sustainable Trypanosomiasis control and eradication research plans and programmes;
- Supporting National, Regional and International tsetse and trypanosomiasis control and eradication research;
- Collaborating and sharing approaches and innovations with National and Regional bodies working on tsetse and trypanosomiasis research and control;
- Supporting and facilitating institutional efforts, multi-sectoral collaboration and community initiatives aimed at elimination of trypanosomiasis;
- Supporting dissemination of tsetse and trypanosomiasis research and control research findings to the relevant stakeholders at National and Regional levels;
- Drafting and submitting work plans, budgets and technical reports regarding tsetse and trypanosomiasis surveillance and eradication programmes and activities to the Principal Research Officer;
- Supervising, coaching and appraising staff;

- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
