PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To carry out routine installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and fixtures.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Implements routine electrical installations in accordance with planned schematic layout and specifications.
• Conducts routine and preventive maintenance of electrical fittings.
• Monitors electricity supply and distribution and ensures the availability and balanced load at all times.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning electrical systems, equipment and components to identify and rectify problems.
• Carries our routine inspection of electrical systems, equipment and components to establish compliance with established safety standards and regulations.
• Prepares preliminary sketches and cost estimates for routine electrical works.
• Supports the upgrade or refurbishment of University electrical systems.
• Maintains safe custody of allocated work tools.
• Reports complicated electrical problems to the Supervisor for necessary action.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
• Should have a Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Should possess an experience of at least three (3) years’ in electrical work in a reputable institution.
• Should have good interpersonal relationship and training skills.
• Should have integrity and be dependable.
• Should have good report writing skills.
• Should be registered with a professional organization where required.

Level of Education: Postgraduate Degree
