JOB DETAILS:
Job Description
To facilitate the implementation and compliance with applicable Data protection and privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Support and aid the Chief Executive officer discharge accountability for the bank’s compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
• Serve as the main point of contact within the bank for staff members, customers, third parties, the regulator, Personal data protection office (PDPO), and relevant public authorities on matters related to Data Protection and privacy.
• Identify all regulatory obligations relating to Data Protection and Privacy legislation and recommend controls and practices for business to integrate the obligations into existing practices, policies, standards and procedures and comply with the law.
• Keep abreast of and analyze relevant legislative and regulatory developments and provide advisory and collaboration with key stakeholders such as Non-Financial Risk, Engineering, Compliance, and Legal to understand the implications for the organisation and to inform the Data Privacy operating standard and framework.
• Conduct regular monitoring to identify any potential areas of non-compliance and recommend solutions to ensure that the bank complies with the requirements of the act and regulation(s).

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
First Degree in; Information Technology; Legal; Computer Science or Business-related Degree - Mandatory

Other Minimum Qualifications, certifications, or professional memberships
• Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Audit, Information Technology or any Business-related degree would be a minimum qualification requirement for this role as well as an appreciation of digital transformation and initiatives – Robotics; Innovation; Secure Development

Experience Required
Data & Analytics; 3-4 years’ experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc. Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Postgres and Cassandra. Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow, etc. Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift. Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc. Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.

Legal Compliance; The ability to comply with relevant legislation, regulatory and professional standards. Proficiency Level 4 ADVANCED - Mastered the concept, able to act independently, provides guidance and training to others

Information Management; The ability to plan, develop and execute an enterprise information management framework, to improve the accuracy, integrity and accessibility of information. Proficiency Level 3 SEASONED - Applies concepts without requiring supervision, able to provide technical guidance when required.

Promote Good Governance, Risk & Control; The ability to assess governance and control frameworks against the appropriate risk appetite and enhance the risk management culture in line with the organisational objectives.
