Bidco Uganda Limited ( BUL ) is an FMCG company that has established a modern edible oil processing complex in Masese, Jinja. BUL has also developed 10,000 hectares of oil palm plantations on Bugala Island, Kalangala as a backward integration component. All these are geared at serving the African markets with our brands of fortified edible oils, fats and laundry soap

We wish to recruit enthusiastic and experienced individual to fill the following vacancy

Position: Speed Boat Driver
Duty Station: Jinja, Uganda
Reports to: Factory Manager

Role Summary:
To operate the speed boat, ensure safety of all people and equipmentf supplies on board while travelling on water

Key Duties and Responsibilities.

• To transport personnel and equipment by vessel across Lake Victoria to the Islands including anchoring, handling ropes and steering the boat to safe parking.
  
• To ensure safe operation and navigation of the boat.
  
• Routine maintenance to ensure good working condition of the boat and equipment on board, such as engines, radio calls, torches, ropes, fire extinguishers, and life jackets.
  
• To instruct and guide stafff visitors on water safety before onboarding
  
• Advise the company on water travel times.
  
• Maintain records of official trips and their mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes
  
• Prepare monthly fuel and maintenance reports
  

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• The ideal candidate must be a holder of an ordinary level certificate of education
  
• Minimum of two years’ experience in water craft and Driving.
  
• Valid driving permit that authorizes one to drive a boat
  
• Ability to effectively deal with any problems in open waters.
  
• Good knowledge of Lake Victoria landing sites and islands
  
• Water safety knowledge and skills is an added advantage.
  
• Ability to swim for at least 5o meters is an added advantage
