Assets Controlled: Farm inputs, grain, spares, lubricants and fuel, warehouses, and company vehicles.
Asili Agriculture is a fully-mechanized largescale farming company with an integrated food security platform for East Africa that manages dual-season production of high quality maize and soybeans for supply to regional food processors. Asili became operational in January 2014 and is currently farming on over 7,000 ha of land in Western Uganda under a conservation agriculture and precision farming approach to maximize yields efficiently and sustainably.

Our Farm Hubs operate the largest staple foods farming enterprise in Uganda. We also operate grain storage and trading activities serving over 15,000 farmers and supplying over 40,000 MT of food annually. Our Producer Services Business Unit (PSBU) provides bundled services—agronomy, quality inputs supply, grain marketing and financial services—to small-scale producers (also known as smallholders) as well as customized farming services to large landowners. Our Digital Division develops AMSAF – a resilient food marketplace connecting all stakeholders - and implements digital solutions employed across our Hubs and PSBU. Today, we employ 230+ individuals and employ over 800 temporary employees. The Purpose of the role
The search aims at achieving a professional to work with a robust team to manage inventory of different forms. The role involves receiving and record new stock as it’s delivered, maintaining it in the right state until it’s finally released to the end users. All this is done by analysing different supplies, recording deliveries assessing user needs and matching these with orders.
Specific Roles and Responsibilities of the Position
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following tasks with respect to this position:
1. Overseeing store operations in their location
• Collaborating movements of machinery spare parts, fixed asset, Chemical & Fertilizers,
Fuel & lubricant, Packing Materials, Seed, Farm product, Farm tools & other department order
• Ensures dispatch of Spare part & other department required materials as per the requirement plan
• Ensures materials in storerooms can easily be identified without delay.
• Ensures proper hand over of spare parts, and other stock items is made
• Ensures Materials are stored at the appropriate storage area and maintained at the right classification
2. Record Keeping
• Maintaining the accuracy of Stores and Fixed Asset Inventory in his location.
• Maintain a record of used, sold, stolen or lost assets
• Overlook equipment, input and machinery at his/location
3. Storage
• Protects materials from loss and wastage due to defective storage
• Ensure Materials are stored at the appropriate storage area and maintained at the right classification
4. Coordinate all store level supply chain activities.
• Receives and inspects all incoming materials
• Reconciles with purchase requisition/purchase orders
• Processes and distributes documentation with purchase orders
• Reports, documents and tracks damages and discrepancies on orders received.
• Ensures dispatch of Spare part & other department required materials as per the requirement plan
• Ensure proper hand over of spare part and other stock items is made and proper storage in the storage area.
5. Forecast needs and supplies needed and engages store manager for supply.
• Maintain current inventory records and historical sales
• Analyse seasonal trends and use insights from previous seasons.
• Follow up the ordered purchase item and check and follow up the statues 6. Handles and documents storage and transportation of hazardous materials.
• Ensure a safe design, location, and installation of storage and handling systems (e.g., tanks)
• Ensures Separation of incompatible substances to prevent reactive chemicals from interacting
• Maintains appropriate safety signage with labels and placards
• Control Stock inventory, record and file when Received & Issued to the user department 7. Taking care of the overall cleanliness of the premises through communicating expectations, ensuring proper waste management and disposal
• Maintains the warehouse, records area and stores area in a neat and orderly manner.
Personal Specification for this Role
• BSc/BA in business administration. logistics or relevant business-related field Relevant qualifications (e.g. CPIM) will be a plus
• Proven experience as an inventory controller or similar position
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Working knowledge of inventory management software
• Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
• An analytical mind with strong math skills
