STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Engineering Ministries International (EMI) Uganda is seeking to recruit a Structural Engineer to join our diverse, multi-disciplinary team in Kajjansi as we seek to partner with God to bring restoration to the world through design and construction. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a strong desire to walk in step with Jesus, to collaborate, to train and mentor, and a working knowledge of structural engineering practice.

EMI is a Christian non-profit made up of architects, engineers, surveyors, and construction managers. Our mission is to develop people, design structures, and construct facilities which serve communities and the Church. Together, we are designing a world of hope.
Required qualifications and experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or other related fields.
• 3+ years of Structural Engineering experience.
• Experience with structural design software, Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit, Microsoft Excel, and completing structural calculations.
Required basic qualities
• Vibrant Christian faith.
• High integrity and ethics.
• Desire and ability to work cross-culturally.
• Ability to manage work schedule with deadlines.
• Ability to initiate and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Perform structural analysis, design, and drafting on projects as required.
• Perform structural review and consultation on projects.
• Produce reports and calculations related to the engineering design and constructability of projects.
• Encourage, mentor, and direct graduate trainees in structural engineering.
• Respond to construction administration questions from our field construction teams related to structural engineering.
• Assist in the coordination of design efforts across disciplines.
• Document and regularly self-assess professional development to ensure that national registration requirements are met or exceeded.
• Spiritual mentoring within the teams per year
