Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent of Works specializing in Concrete/Structural Works to join our team. As the Superintendent of Works, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of concrete and structural works in water irrigation projects. Your expertise in civil engineering and concrete/structural works will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of projects while adhering to project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize, and supervise all concrete and structural works activities in water irrigation projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to develop detailed work plans, schedules, and resource allocations for concrete and structural works.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, design drawings, and relevant codes and standards during the execution of concrete and structural works.
• Oversee the selection and procurement of construction materials, equipment, and formwork systems required for concrete and structural works.
• Provide guidance and technical support to construction teams, ensuring proper construction techniques, quality control, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor the progress of concrete and structural works, identify any issues, and implement necessary corrective actions.
• Review and approve construction drawings, method statements, and shop drawings related to concrete and structural works.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.
• Monitor project costs and budgets related to concrete and structural works, and take proactive measures to control expenses and optimize resource utilization.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on concrete and structural works to project teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in concrete and structural works or a similar role.
• Must have completed at least one similar water irrigation project (500-2000 hectares).

Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of concrete and structural works principles, including formwork systems, reinforcement, concrete mixing, and placement techniques.
• Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, technical specifications, and relevant codes and standards related to concrete and structural works.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, coordinate, and supervise construction activities effectively.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in construction, particularly related to concrete and structural works.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities to supervise and motivate construction teams.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all concrete and structural works.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Proficient in using construction software, computer-aided design (CAD) tools, and other relevant applications for planning and analysis of concrete and structural works.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address technical challenges and find appropriate solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.
