JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary
The TB/HIV Officer is responsible for overall planning, managing and coordinating Multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) diagnosis, TB treatment and Infection Control (IC) activities implemented in the region. Implement TB/HIV care & treatment in alignment with up to date MoH guidelines

Overall Responsibilities
• Coordinate and assist with supportive supervision and mentoring of community-based and facility-based Health Care Workers in the day-to-day implementation of TB/HIV collaborative activities.
• Implement QI projects to improve contact tracing, TB screening in OPD, treatment success (completion and cure) rate and other priority areas in the TB/HIV cascade
• Provide support to the effective referral system of tuberculosis and HIV patients for integrated, one stop TB and HIV services within the district
• Document gather, and analyze records of TB/HIV collaborative activities at supported facilities, as well as electronic case-based surveillance
• Support districts and health facilities to implement MDR-TB surveillance and case referral activities;
• Participate in all TB/HIV forums at local level and provide updates as required
• Work with the district TB coordinators, HIV focal persons and Facility in charges to support them to provide regular updates on implementation of TB/HIV collaborative activities.
• Monitor implementation of planned district level activities through periodic consultations, monthly progress review meetings, reports review, and field trips. Provide written feedback for improving performance.

Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
• At least a diploma in clinical medicine or its equivalent and registered with relevant professional body.
• Public health training from a recognized University/Institution will be of added advantage.
• At least two years of relevant work experience in the field of TB and HIV control activities with at least one year in a supervisory role
• At least 3 years of experience in managing a corporate function, managing performance driven programs, managing the change process, Good experience in mentorships/coaching and transition management; with a reputable international NGO, and direct experience with government and donor representatives
• 3 Years Relevant Experience
