About the role:
We are seeking a skilled control room operator to join our solar power plant team. The ideal candidate should have experience in solar power plant operations and a strong understanding of electrical systems and controls.

Key Responsibilities:
1. To monitor and control the operation of the solar power plant from the control room, including monitoring equipment performance, power output, and system efficiency.
2. To respond to alarms and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
3. To conduct regular check-ins and maintenance of control systems and equipment.
4. To collaborate with other members of the operations team to optimize plant performance and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
5. To record and report data on plant performance, including energy production and system efficiency.
6. Check and provide complete documentation to clients.
7. Perform onsite installations, repairs and troubleshooting
8. Record keeping and management of spare parts movements.
9. Perform varying corrective, preventive and emergency maintenance for solar PV systems.
10. Carry out site root analysis and apply root cause analysis techniques on all major and recurring faults.

Minimum Qualification and Experience
1. Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in control room operations, preferably in a power plant.


Core Competencies
1. Strong understanding of operations, electrical and mechanical systems in solar power plants.
2. Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
3. Experience in SCADA systems and data analysis
4. Ability to interact with customers on the professional level as part of multitasking.
5. Ability to apply root cause analysis techniques on all major and recurring faults.
6. Having knowledge of how to investigate technical failures and prepare formal technical reports.
7. Ability to work on rooftops and heights
8. Ability to lift and move objects up to 35kgs
9. Working knowledge of power systems protection
10. Able to read and interpret single line diagrams and schematics
11. Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of LV and 22kV cable and DC cable systems
12. Including fault location and diagnostic is an advantage.
