Overview
Our client, the largest franchisee of French giant group CARREFOUR owned and operated by MAJID AL FUTTAIM in Uganda is looking for a Treasury Manager. The middle East based group is currently operating more than 375 Carrefour Stores in 17 countries with more than 37000 employees
Role Purpose
The Treasury Manager is responsible for Identifying, establishing and maintaining relationships with key financial institutions in the countries of operation. The role holder is also responsible for keeping abreast with regulatory and financial environment in countries of operation and highlight risks and opportunities to management

Roles and Responsibilities
• Cash Flow Management
• Invest surplus fund in line with the Treasury policies
• Assist in advanced payments activity through price setting, limit monitoring
• Monitor correct functioning of liquidity concentration structures like sweeping or zero balancing Planning and Forecasting
• Support in developing funding plan based on financing needs identified within the 5year business plan
• Determine daily consolidated cash position based on stores forecasts
• Ensure the accuracy of forecasts, support countries in developing reports, and reporting to management and external parties
• Bookkeeping and Transactions
• Support accounting in daily bank accounts reconciliations
• Provide trade finance facilities and assist the business in executing related transactions
• Oversight of multiple bank accounts and bank relationship
• Ensure the proper conservation, utilization and profitability of the company’s assets

Risk and Assurance
• Assist the management in identifying financial risks like foreign currency transactions
• Ensure accurate and complete date and deal capturing in Treasury Management System
• Report any action that might interfere with the proper functioning of the company

Human Capital Responsibilities
• Assist in implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to senior management
• Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles
• Provide inputs on training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements
• Develop and implement on the job-training for the team
• Provide inputs for the development of annual manpower plan
• Ensure the implementation of MAFR’s corporate policies and relevant procedures

Qualifications/education
• Bachelor’s Degree in commerce / Economics / Finance / Mathematics / Statistics
• 5 years of experience in a similar role
• 5+ years in retail business is preferred
