Job title: Treasury Officer

Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd. [KCL] is a member of the Volcafe group, the coffee division of ED&F Man. It is the oldest and largest coffee exporter in Uganda and the first to become ISO 9001:2008 certified. We buy Arabica and Robusta in all coffee producing regions and export about 15% of Uganda’s coffee production to over 30 consuming countries around the world. The company heavily invests in Uganda’s coffee infrastructure and people. Our quality-oriented business strategy aims to lift up the entire coffee sector and improve the quality perception of Ugandan Arabica and Robusta around the globe.

To ensure we can deliver on our service level to our global network, we are looking for a Treasury Officer to join our team.
Duties will include:
Controllership
• Work with the Senior Finance Controller to ensure adherence to all banking control policies and processes.
• Full Ownership of all facilities in terms of tracking, reporting and analysis including ensuring correct interest workings & payments as well as postings of entries.
• Responsible for ensuring accuracy in coordination with respective Unit accountants and cashiers for all bank & cash data entry.
• Full ownership of tracking all CMA transactions and pledged stocks working closely with the trade desk and other key partners.
Performance Manager
• Analyse all facilities and ensure optimal leverage / usage of all lines in the business
• Maintain cashflow analysis and ensure reporting of all cashflow movements to the group
• Provide working capital and overall resource usage qualitative analysis to enable stakeholders to make optimal decisions on usage
• Ensure all financial & non-financial covenants of running facilities are tracked on a daily/ weekly/ monthly and quarterly basis and report as appropriate.
Value manager
• Ensure optimal utilisation of existing facilities.
• Work with the Senior Finance Controller to ensure all residual and inherent risks in cash and bank are mitigated appropriately for value retention.
• Support leadership team to maximize value through lower interest payouts and better negotiated facilities.
Strategic Partnering
• Responsible for all data collation for potential and existing lines including coordinating the data collection with the help of the financial analyst.
• Responsible for market intelligence on macros, currency, interest, and any other market information relevant to the company.
• Support senior leadership in maintaining good relationships with funding partners as part of corporate and banking relationships.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with the following skills, experience, and knowledge:
• University Graduate with a relevant degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce. Professional certification in banking & treasury is an added advantage
• At least 2+ years of experience in treasury or banking in an analyst role, 1 year of work experience in a trading company is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of MS applications especially MS excel, word and PowerPoint.
• Good presentation & report writing skills.
• High Attention to detail
• Good communicator
• Excellent collaboration skills and a team player
• Ability to self-manage, plan and execute
• Knowledge in Cash management principles, Banking systems and processes, and Tracking of financial/ non-financial covenants.
