Position Summary
We are seeking experienced and responsible truck drivers to support our growing logistics operations across Uganda. The ideal candidate must be committed to safety, punctuality, and professional client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive assigned trucks to deliver cargo across designated routes
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues
- Ensure timely delivery and accurate handling of documentation (delivery notes, PODs, etc.)
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle
- Communicate effectively with the dispatch team and provide real-time updates
- Assist in cargo loading/unloading where necessary
- Maintain a professional and courteous attitude with clients and stakeholders
Requirements
- Valid Ugandan driving license with clearly indicated class (CM or CH preferred)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in long-distance heavy truck driving
- Strong knowledge of road networks across Uganda and regional routes
- Tech-savvy – able to operate smartphones and logistics apps for communication and tracking
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Kiswahili proficiency is an added advantage
- Physically fit and willing to assist in cargo loading/unloading when needed
- Highly disciplined, punctual, and responsible with strong time management skills
- Capable of working independently and performing basic vehicle troubleshooting
