WQS Recruitment services Ltd is looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Tubular Management Services (TMS) Inspector for one of our clients Vallourec.

Job summary:
You will ensure that OCTG materials (both Vallourec and customer owned) are inspected and delivered ‘fit for purpose’ at all times. To deliver accurate and complete inspection reports and generally contribute to the safe, effective, and efficient provision of onshore inspection services and perform all work in line with the Company’s QHSE procedures, policies, and standards.

Key Roles and responsibilities
• Ensure all process and procedures are in place to deliver a high level of service performance safely without impacting the environment and in line with Vallourec procedures & QHSE rules
• Inspect the OCTG products and services, according to planning, ensuring their integrity during the related inspection process in accordance with the customers’ requirements and API & proprietary standards.
• Ensure that the job inspection records are done following the company and customer requirements, including (non-exhaustive): pre-job toolbox talks, inspections reports, calibration of inspection equipment, technical specifications, reporting on rejects and job traceability.
• Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained and kept in good working order and assist in reducing overheads by maximising the use of consumables.
• Ensure that labourers assigned to jobs work safely, correctly, and within the limits of their training and competence.
• Ensure that traceability is ensured through pipe tag technology and that associated equipment is maintained and kept in good working order.
• Support the Onshore Inspection Supervisor and/or Service Base Manager with the compilation and explanation of the weekly and monthly operational reports.
• Ensure that incidents are reported.
• Provide cover for the Inspector Supervisor in their absence, when applicable.
• To welcome Customer TPI inspectors and ensure they work in accordance with Vallourec QHSE procedures.

Qualifications and experience
• Working technical knowledge of OCTG products and connections.
• Successful completion of the Company’s ‘VAM School’ training & ongoing competence certification from VAM® Field Services
• Computer literate, as will be required to use e-mail, excel & word to compile, produce, monitor and interpret operational data and reports.
• Good communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge, understanding and application of Company QHSE Policies and Procedures.
• Reliable, able to work unsupervised, or co-operatively, within the production team, across the whole organisation, and with external customers.
• Possess the ability to supervise effectively, prioritise and co-ordinate multiple tasks, ensuring they are completed in a timely manner.
• Must demonstrate a flexible approach to operational requirements in order to meet business objectives.
• Able to operate, ensuring the proper use and care of, company plant and equipment, machinery, personal equipment, and tool kit.
• Must demonstrate a flexible and innovative approach to problem solving.
