JOB DETAILS:
Job: VP Sales - Uganda
Function: Sales Function Reporting to: Country Manager
Job Purpose:
Provide leadership to the sales function and team and develop the overall sales strategy, operational plans and processes that drive revenue growth and meet sales targets while developing and cultivating relationships with new and existing clients.
Key duties and responsibilities
• Own and hit/exceed annual sales targets for the sales function.
• Execute a strategic plan to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base.
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
• Take lead on all lead generation activities, conversion and sales promotion activities while working with sales team and ensures regular reporting from the teams.
• Develop go to market strategies for all products and services.
• Develop and implement customer acquisition and retention strategies.
• Responsible for ensuring the sales team receives the right product training.
• Build, motivate and manage the sales team targets.
• Partner with customers to understand their business needs and requirements.
• Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
• Provide advice when preparing bid documents and integrated proposals for key accounts.
• Monitor changes in the industry and leverage them for business opportunities.
• Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts.
• Recommend changes in pricing structures in product lines or products.
• Review sales performance by analysing the individual team’s performance.
Ideal candidate
The applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in commerce, or business administration specializing in sales and marketing or any related field from a recognized university.
Experience
• Seven or more years of experience in sales, and marketing, with atleast two years in a managerial role within the ICT and/or telecommunication industry.
• Proven record of success with the entire sales process, from planning to closing
• Strong understanding of the telecommunication industry services.
• Proven sales executive experience, meeting, and exceeding targets
• Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager, or sales director
• Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level.
• Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services.
• Demonstrate experience to position products against competitors.
• Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills·
• Superb leadership ability
