Job Description
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa [CCBA] is the largest African Coca-Cola Bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda Limited is a subsidiary of CCBA. we are currently seeking to recruit a process artisan based at the Mbarara plant
As Workshop Artisan, you will report directly to the Utilities Controller.
Key Purpose Statement
The primary role of a Workshop Artisan is to support the manufacturing operation as a Subject Matter Expert with the ability to repair equipment components, work as support on maintenance, shutdown, and project activities, execute welding services, and refurbish rotable spares.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
• During the absence of Process Artisans, stand in for fulfilling technical support.
• In the event of an extensive breakdown of bottling equipment, assist the units with additional support.
• Comply with WCM housekeeping standards.
• Maintain workshop assets to OEM standards.
• Review defective parts and determine repair options.
• Execute machining requirements, tolerances, and material requirements.
• Align with the Utilities Controller on delivery timelines and quality expectations.
• Actively participating in workshop meetings, asking questions to test understanding, and contributing suggestions.
• Making use of the gap list to record issues, problems, and improvement opportunities.
• When problems occur, apply the appropriate techniques (e.g., 5Y, quick fix routines, etc.) to identify and correct the problem.
• Where the utility artisan is unable to resolve the problem, involve fellow team members or escalate to the team leader if necessary.
• Identify opportunities on the Processing lines and workshop environment for improvement.
• Contribute during brainstorming sessions on potential solutions.
• Participate in food safety management system implementation
• Report food safety, defense, and fraud-related issues to the food safety team leader designate (SHEQ) manager.
Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications
• Minimum requirement: A minimum of a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any other related field
Experience
• Minimum of two years relevant experience in FMCGs as a Workshop Artisan.
