Youth Alive, the leader in innovative children, adolescents and youth integrated development programming since 1993, is a consortium partner on the USAID/Regional Health Integration to Enhance Services in East Central Uganda (USAID/ RHITES-EC) project led by University Research Co., LLC (URC). RHITES-EC is five-year project intended to support the implementation of a comprehensive, integrated investment in regional health, HIV/AIDS and nutrition assistance in 11 districts of East, Central Uganda. Youth Alive is inviting applications from interested candidates with the necessary qualifications and experience to fill the following positions:

Position: Youth Officers
Reports: Youth Advisor
Vacancies: two (2)
Duty Station: Jinja

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Youth Advisor in designing & coordinating Health/OVC support programs for youth beneficiaries of the project.
  • Assist in tailoring curriculums, guides & materials for the integrated youth curriculum
  • Lead in training, mentoring, coaching community & CSO structures to facilitate knowledge acquisition and develop skills.
  • Carry out TNA among the District Based Trainers (DBTs)NHTs & recommend to the Youth Advisor competence based training programs.
  • Establish a systems approach in working & collaborating with schools, families, peers and communities to respond to the health needs of the most vulnerable youth.
  • Assist in compiling periodic project reports.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
Person specification

  • Qualified with Bachelors in Humanities
  • At least 2 years experience in designing and implementing Health/OVC youth programs.
  • Experience with USAID projects for health & OVC programming.
  • Good level of competence in Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
  • Ability to manage high volume workload.
  • Experience in facilitating the Youth Alive EFL Curriculum is an added advantage
