Introduction:

Primary Purpose:
This position is primarily responsible for driving and maintaining CWS/RSC Africa vehicles to complete assigned errands on behalf of the organization.
Essential Duties:
1. Drives CWS/RSC Africa motor vehicles to complete assigned duties.
2. Cleans and cares for official CWS/RSC Africa vehicles. Conducts regular checks of vehicles to ensure that they are mechanically sound and in good working order and reports any problems noted to the General Service Officer.
3. Provides safe transportation to meetings and other destinations for CWS/RSC Africa staff and visitors on official business.
4. Posts and collects mail, weighs and affixes the correct amount of stamps on letters and packages.
5. Assists in the safe banking of CWS/RSC Africa checks and cash as well as replenishment of petty cash.
6. Maintains accurate records of deliveries made to other offices in the CWS/RSC Africa delivery book.
7. Performs general clerical duties as may be assigned and which may include photocopying and packing supplies for field team travel.
8. Facilitates the processing of work permits and alien registration certificates for expatriate staff and the processing of visas for CWS/RSC Africa staff proceeding on circuit rides and any other official travel.
9. Repairs minor mechanical problems on the CWS/RSC Africa motor vehicles after confirming the same with the General Service Officer.
10. Obtains quotations and makes simple purchases on behalf of the office and as per instructions by the General Service Officer.
11. Records each and every trip made in the book.
12. Ensures that the fuel level in each vehicle does not go below half tank.
13. Performs other duties, which are developed and assigned in order to improve the operations of the CWS/RSC Africa office.
Qualifications:
Experience:
• Two (2) years of driving experience required.
Skills:
• Working knowledge of basic motor vehicle mechanics and required.
• Good working knowledge of Nairobi and its vicinity.
Education & Certifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
Abilities:
• Manage large and diverse workload under pressure with competing priorities.
• Maintain the integrity of official records;
• Analyze and solve complex problems and make sound decisions;
• Work with minimal supervision.
• Maintain a high performance standard with attention to detail;
• Work independently and contribute to overall operations of RSC Africa;
• Actively participate in the implementation of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP).

• This position is based in Kampala, Uganda
• This position requires use of laptops at all time, competence in Microsoft office packages is required.
• This position may require travel in sub-Saharan Africa on short notice and under sometimes difficult conditions to meet demands of a dynamic operational program.
• Background check which includes references and an educational criminal check is required before the start of employment for International applicants.
• A valid passport and the ability to maintain a valid passport throughout the entire appointment is required, which includes having enough passport pages for travel.
• Physical: This position requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, kneeling, sitting, standing, walking, pushing/pulling, handling objects (manual dexterity), reaching above shoulder level, using fine finger movements and lifting/carrying heavy loads.
• Environmental: Incumbents in this position will be exposed to excessive noise, marked changes in temperature and/or humidity, dust and infectious diseases, harsh weather climates, long work hours, bumpy roads, extended travel, excessive sun exposure, and non-ventilated spaces.

Role Purpose:• Manage and ensure the country programmes’ overall Supply Chain function is effective and efficient and are accountable to its beneficiaries and donors as well as develop and implement strategies and plans to ensure that overall programme Supply Chain: Supplies and Procurements, transport and asset management, warehouse management are met according to agreed programme activities and resources utilisation priorities and SCI systems, polices, and procedures
• Ensure an efficient and effective Supply Chain service across all programs and field offices. This includes implementing, monitoring and following-up across all Supply Chain disciplines to ensure that SCI’s Supply Chain polices, standards, and best practices is adhered to.
Experience and Skills
• MSc/MA degree in Procurement/ Purchasing and Supply Management, Public/ Business Administration and other related fields.
• Professional certification in Procurement i.e. CIPS or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 12 years’ progressive practical experience in the field out of which 5 years at high level managerial/directorial position
• Experience in running complex and high-volume procurement processes and in high volume contracts negotiation (>USD 1 million) with financial benefit delivery
• Proven and significant experience in international procurement and contract management, financial knowledge including an ability to review procurement demands and trends, and to develop strategies to fill identified gaps.
• Cross-cultural experience, understanding and sensitivity
• A high level of computer literacy (word, excel, ppt etc) and use of Supply Chain ERPs
• Field level experience in Supply Chain for INGOs in international development and emergency programmes
• Knowledge of key institutional donors and their compliance requirements in respect of Supply Chain and procurement
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching.
• Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in.

• Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies including travelling at short notice and for extended periods of time
• Highly organised with good administration skills for order and information management, able to develop filing systems and databases to ensure an auditable trail.
