General summary
The study research assistant will support the updating and maintenance of the study records. This position will also provide ongoing support to the study nurses.
Key Responsibilities
• Will be responsible for conducting ICEA data entries for ENACT, HARVEST and IMPROVE participants who are enrolled into the IDI clinic
• Maintaining all study documents in good filing order and ensuring that all documents are arranged in chronological order and can easily be obtained whenever needed by the other team members
• Will ensure that all study case report forms are reviewed for completeness at the end of each day and that study staff correct all required fields in real time.
• Will work together with the QC nurse to prepare files that are listed on the study QC report and will participate in ensuring that queries are resolved
• Periodic data cleaning and validation to ensure that the study data base is accurate
• Will liaise with the records office to retrieve patient files and will return then weekly for data entry in ICEA.
• Will retrieve and file patient blood results and request forms in the respective files and will ensure they are transcribed in real time.
• Will ensure that study documents are maintained with confidentiality according to GCP
• Participate in any other study related duties assigned by the relevant authorities
Person Specification
Education Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Social science or related field with a computing bias
• Two (2) years professional and or analytical work experience in monitoring and evaluation preferred.
• Strong computer skills are an added advantage.
• Knowledge and experience with electronic databases, especially ICEA
Required experience and skills
• Good interpersonal skills, organizational skills, strong service ethic, sensitivity to patients, professionalism, and attention to detail are required.
• Demonstrable knowledge and extensive previous experience in clinical research is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office application.

JOB DETAILS:Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE
Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Quantitative Economics; or Economics; or Statistics; or Mathematics; or Policy Analysis; or Social Sciences, Commerce plus a minimum of a Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation, Economics or Policy and Planning, Project Planning and Management, or a related discipline obtained from a recognized University/ Institution.
Applicants should have:
• At least 6 years of professional experience in Planning Processes, Policy Analysis, Monitoring and Evaluation or Performance Management including experience in developing and refining Theories of Change, Results Chains and Results Frameworks, indicator selection, baseline assessments, and setting targets
• Demonstrable experience of not less than 5 years in supporting multisectoral programmes and partners to develop and operationalize a MEAL plan
• At least 4 years of using both qualitative and quantitative data collection/ research techniques in health and/ or nutrition
• Field experience at national and sub-national level work environments with good working knowledge of UNAP implementation at national and local government level being an added advantage.
DUTIES
The Office of the Prime Minister is seeking to recruit a Monitoring and Evaluation officer to support the UNAP secretariat during the second phase of the NIPN project. The M&E Officer will support and strengthen the capacity of the UNAP secretariat to monitor and coordinate the implementation of the MEAL Plan for UNAP Il. The officer will provide support to the following key actions:
• Periodically monitor and track implementation of the UNAP Il MEAL plan to inform programme decisions for the Multi-Sectoral Nutrition Technical Coordination Committee.
• Support stakeholder meetings to routinely review performance of UNAP Il against the set standards and targets
• Work closely with relevant M&E focal points in the different OPM departments e.g. Disaster preparedness, Strategic Coordination Implementation (SCI), Nutrition related projects/ programs to ensure relevant nutrition sensitive actions contribute to the UNAP MEAL
• Support the mapping of relevant nutrition indicators to inform the Government Annual Performance Report (GAPR) and subsequent dissemination of Nutrition Extract reports to key stakeholders
• Lead the preparation and generation of progress reports on a quarterly and annual basis for UNAP Secretariat
• Support supervision for functionality assessment at the OPM and SUN
• Provide technical assistance to the UNAP secretariat in terms of concept development, methods, data management, etc. for any identified areas of research under UNAP II
• Working closely with the Knowledge Management Officer at OPM, support development and dissemination of Nutrition related knowledge products and analytical briefs for the UNAP secretariat
• Working closely with the UNAP Nutrition Officer, monitor and provide regular updates on the UNAP II Implementation Road map
• Generate concept notes and terms of reference for midterm review and end term evaluation of UNAP II
• Support the development of the training packages of the UNAP 11 MEAL plan
• Support training of OPM and SUN networks staff on UNAP II MEAL plan.

JOB DETAILS:Data Assistant-Kosiroi HC II
Applicants should have experience and expertise in the following;
• Iimplementation of strong Health management data quality maintenance systems.
• Promoting quality data standards at all points of Health management service delivery
• Generation and submission of accurate, timely, valid data to inform on quality improvement and reporting for efficient & effective Health management service delivery.
• Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly facility HMIS and PEPFAR reports to support efficient & effective Health management service delivery.
• Perform data entry to Uganda EMR, DHIS-2, CQI dashboard, Support HMIS register updates and LPHSKaramoja Information Management system.
• Analyse and present performance data for key program indicators to inform decision making at facility level and participate in data cleaning and DQA activities
Education Qualifications& Trainings
• Bachelor’s degree in Project planning and management, Development studies, Statistics, Quantitative
• Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology.
• A post graduate diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation will be an added advantage.
• A high level of computer literacy is required, especially, but not limited to Ms-Word, Excel, MS Access,
• Internet & web technology, as the incumbent will be involved in data entry into database systems
• Training in information technology, database and records management is an added advantage
Experience & other skills
• At least 2 years of progressive professional experience working in data management related projects, and working with rural communities in a reputable organisation preferably an NGO.
• Good numeracy skills. Attention to detail and enjoy alphanumeric data entry.
• Practical experience in working with government of Uganda health information systems (like Open MRS/Uganda EMR, DHIS2, and mTrack) at health facility and district
• Experience in handling, collecting, coding, and managing numerical data
• Hands-on knowledge and skills in data entry preferably in an HIV/AIDS, or a research-oriented organization
• Excellent data analysis skills (competency in the use of Statistical applications such as SPSS, STATA, or Epi-Info is an added advantage)
• Willingness to work and travel in rural settings of North-Eastern Uganda
