MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND WORKING EXPERIENCE
Health Nutrition or a related discipline obtained from a recognized University/ Institution. Applicants should have:
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the multi-sectoral nutrition field, a good knowledge and understanding of multi-sector nutrition approach is an asset.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in planning and implementing national nutrition or other multi-sectoral programmes in Government or non-governmental organizations/ development partners.
• Field experience at national and sub-national level work environments with good working knowledge of UNAP implementation at de-centralized and National Level being an added advantage.
• Experience in guiding policy processes and advocacy at national / subnational level;
• Experience in facilitating multi-partner and multi-sector working groups in national settings
• Proven ability to write policy briefs, technical reports and documents
• Clear understanding of the Scaling up Nutrition roadmap and strategy 2022-2025
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and have the initiative to work independently to meet deadlines.

DUTIES
The Officer will support and strengthen the capacity of the UNAP secretariat to coordinate the overall implementation of the Second Uganda Nutrition Action Plan (UNAP II).
The officer will provide support to the following key actions:
• Support OPM to organize and keep record of regular meetings of technical, strategic and political nutrition coordination structures.
• Organize and support the UNAP Secretariat to conduct field supervision and mentorship in the area of nutrition governance to the national coordination structures and SUN networks
• Support the functionality of SUN NETWORKS including preparing their annual implementation plans, support supervision
• Follow up with UNAP implementing MDAs and SUN Networks to submit of quarterly progress reports and produce a consolidated report.
• Regularly track monitor the attainment of milestones in the UNAPII roadmap
• Support the monitoring and or tracking of the implementation of the UNAP Il Risk Matrix and provide regular updates
• Work closely with focal points for nutrition relevant projects and programmes within OPM to foster complementarity with UNAP Il implementation
• Closely work with the UNAP MBE Officer to support the implementation of the UNAPII MEAL Plan
• Work closely with the Knowledge Management Officer to support development and dissemination of Nutrition related knowledge products and analytical briefs arising out of the NIPN Policy cycle
• Support the coordination of implementation of advocacy actions of the NACS Il strategy
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders nationally, regionally and internationally to foster information exchange and learning x. Support the organization of Nutrition related events such as the National Nutrition Forum, among others
• Coordinate the preparation of a consolidated annual nutrition work plan
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time Required

Role overview
To support the Finance & Operations Specialist/Manager in the daily finance activities of cash management, budgeting, enforcing financial rules and procedures, processing accounting transactions and preparation of financial reports.

Skills, qualifications and experience
Essential selection criteria
• At least 3 years demonstrable skills and experience in accounting, finance and operations in an INGO and in a multi donor environment is required
• Good knowledge of donor requirements (DFID, UNICEF, USAID, EU) contrac-tual, procurement and reporting requirements is required
• Financial and Information Technology Systems – Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office – especially MS Excel, Power point and MS Outlook. Knowledge and experience in the SUN systems Accounting software is re-quired.
• Knowledge/qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, finance and ac-counting
• Professional Qualification/Certification such CPA, ACCA (At least Level 1)
• A relevant Post Graduate Qualification will be an added advantage

• Planning and Organization – Able to prioritize within restricted resources to tight deadlines.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
