Job Purpose
Operates and keeps custody of vehicles assigned to assure safe transportation of clients to and from various destinations and to assist clients on entry and exit from vehicles as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Operates assigned vehicle/s in a safe and courteous manner and in line with laid down EAHRC regulations;
• Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, customer transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested from management;
• Ensure the vehicles are in clean condition at all times;
• Perform minor maintenance tasks on the EAHRC vehicles and report defect for servicing on time;
• Respond immediately to accident or medical emergencies by notifying emergency response providers, and rendering First Aid until emergency personnel arrive;
• Carry out simple mechanical repairs;
• Read and interpret maps and driving directions to plan the most efficient route service for customers, and reads and interprets road signs in English and Kiswahili;
• Adhere to traffic rules and regulations;
• Serve as role model while providing transportation services;
• Assist to dispatch letters, correspondences and any administrative documents to stakeholders; and
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Management from time to time.

Job Summary
USAID’s Integrated Community Agriculture and Nutrition Activity (ICAN) is USAID/Uganda’s flagship resilience project. The Activity's goal is to enhance the resilience of vulnerable households in the eight districts of Kanungu, Kisoro, Rukungiri (Kigezi sub-region); Gulu, Lamwo, Nwoya (Acholi sub-region); Kaabong and Kotido (Karamoja sub-region) in Karamoja region.
The overall objective of the project is to sustainably enhance the resilience of vulnerable households in its area of operation by maximizing economic opportunities for vulnerable households, stabilizing their access to and consumption of diverse and nutritious diets and increase social capital by reinforcing relationships among formal governance systems and communities.
Position description
The Driver will be responsible for the transportation of project staff, equipment, and material required in the implementation of project activities.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Drive project, and project affiliated personnel to project sites within Karamoja, and throughout the project implementation area for project activities, including official site visits.
• Transport project equipment, materials, supplies, and documents to project sites
• Maintain up-to-date record-keeping systems for vehicle issues including fuel, mileage, and trip logs.
• Ensure that the vehicle usage log is updated on a daily basis and submitted on a monthly basis
• Prepare monthly fuel consumption report is submitted as required
• Ensure regular maintenance of the vehicle, and that fluid (water, oil, fuel, washer liquid, etc.) levels are at the required levels
• Report any apparent malfunction to the supervisor
• Report any damage or accident to the supervisor immediately
• Ensure that the vehicle is safely parked and locked when not in use
• Maintain project vehicle, including keeping accurate records, and following a schedule of routine maintenance, repairs, and cleaning.
• Ensure the readiness of the vehicle for transport service by checking oil, water, fuel, and tires, maps, and conducting safety and security inspections prior to driving.
• Perform project routine business around the province, such as receiving and delivering official project documentation to and from the regional office, general office purchasing, and photocopying.
• Support project workshop activities
• Support purchase of basic cleaning and kitchen supplies and assist in the purchase of other project-authorized items.
• Perform relevant general service activities such as a collection of proforma, processing customs duty clearances, and tax exemptions, as directed.
• Make arrangements for repairs, maintenance, and improvements to the office, as requested by the project management.
• Regularly check post office boxes, collect and dispatch letters, parcels, and other correspondence, and perform other local errands.

Preferred Qualifications
• Secondary schooling desirable
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
• Knowledge of car mechanics and repair
• At least one year of experience in driving a vehicle; preferably for a USAID or other donor project

JOB DETAILS:Job Summary
The Medical Logistics Officer will be responsible for review and implementation of systems and guidelines for providing pharmaceutical services in supported districts and health facilities in line with Baylor-Uganda pharmacy department’s mission and related guidelines from NDA, NMS and MoH
Overall Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement quarterly districts/clusters activity work plans, procurement plans and budgets for medical logistics and supply chain activities and as well provide technical support in the functionality of district procurement committees in the in line with Baylor-Uganda medical logistics objectives and related MoH guidelines
2. Maintain updated hard copy records and electronic data bases(Rx solution, RASS) for tracking of all ‘inventory and supplies’ received & stored at regional office and issued to Baylor supported HFs and monitor the update of inventory records and data bases per district in region in line with the Baylor-Uganda medical logistics department Standard Operating Procedures.
3. Conduct periodic needs assessment and build technical capacity of health workers in health facilities and at districts; involved in selection, quantification, ordering/reporting, storage, distribution and use of health commodities through training, mentorship, coaching and support supervision in line with Baylor Uganda and MoH pharmaceutical SOPs
4. Participate in forecasting/quantification and ordering process for each supported health facility in alignment to the national supply chain system for health commodities and distribute/redistribute buffer supplies as per facility requests in case of emergencies and NMS supply delay in line with Baylor Uganda and MoH pharmaceutical SOPs
5. Perform stock spot checks in selected supported health facilities and facilitate both internal and external audits and provide all the necessary information for the effective audit as well as follow up on the audit recommendations in line with Baylor-Uganda, & MoH Pharmacy SOPs.
6. Support the implementation of pharmacovigilance activities in supported health facilities and support health workers to detect, assess, understand, manage, report and prevent Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) to the National Pharmacovigilance Centre at the National Drug Authority (NDA) for each supported district.
7. Review and monitor the implementation of periodic performance targets for buffer stock management and medical logistics supply chain then write and submit periodic reports to key stakeholders in line with Baylor-Uganda pharmacy Operating Procedures
8. Develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders and advocate for coordinated and harmonized interventions in handling medical logistics & buffer stock management
9. Carry out operational research on the areas of supply chain and logistics to guide and provide lessons to improve performance then document best work practices in HFs and promote knowledge sharing through CMEs on areas of health commodities, new developments and changes.
10. Participate and monitor the implementation of the Supervision Performance Assessment Recognition Strategy (SPARS) by Medicines Management Supervisors (MMS) in Essential Medicines(EM SPARS), Antiretroviral Therapy (ART SPARS), TB (TB SPARS, Laboratory (LAB SPARS) and Pharmaceutical Financial Management (PFM) in the supported districts and health facilities in line with the national guidelines
11. Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly reports to the different clusters teams and the coordinator medical logistics about supply chain system performance in districts and health facilities

• Bachelor of Pharmacy or Diploma in Pharmacy with a degree in a health related field. Must have at least 3 years experience in health systems strengthening projects.

Main tasks and responsibilities

JOB DETAILS:Key Result Areas:
• Receive supplies and equipment procured and delivered to the field site/locations for program activities.
• Inspect deliveries to confirm that materials delivered conform to the details of the Purchase Order, Delivery Note and or Way Bill and that they are free of any damage before accepting them into the store.
• Write out a Goods Received Note (GRN) for every consignment received.
• Prepare payment request vouchers for goods delivered, ensuring that all the relevant documents required have been attached. Ensure that the vouchers are approved and payments issued out to suppliers.
• Make entries onto all stock control records (Warehouse Register, Bin Cards, and Stock Cards).
• Ensure that the store is tidy and well-arranged all the time to ease removal of or getting in materials and or movement of people.
• Ensure safety and security of stores, equipment and materials kept in the store.
• Issue supplies and materials from the stores as per the duly authorized Stores Release Forms (SRF).
• Write out a Way Bill for materials being transported out from the store to the field site.
• Keep track of office supply levels and alert the inform you supervisor before stocks of particular items run out, and make orders for replenishment.
• Periodically carry out self-auditing to ensure that correct records are kept and systems and procedures are followed.

Experience
