Job Title: Biodiversity Engineer
Reports to: Biodiversity Operations Manager

Activities
• Ensure contractors undertaking biodiversity studies and projects execute their roles efficiently and participate in analysis of biodiversity data, in line with Company standards
• Ensure there is effective coordination and alignment between biodiversity projects/studies and the activities of the other entities within Biodiversity team and Social Performance team
• Contribute in designing and implementing biodiversity and ecosystems services studies and plans in-line with the company H3SE and Biodiversity policies, National and International legislation and International best practices i.e. IFC standards. Key to this is ensuring that appropriate surveys to ensure accurate trend identification and reporting against baseline conditions are undertaken to demonstrate NNL/NG, as per the Tilenga Biodiversity Program
• Ensure sufficient planning and startup of Restoration Plant Sourcing project is appropriately done
• Contribute in development, monitoring of and revision of key guiding documents including Biodiversity Strategy, Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Action Plan, associated Biodiversity Management Plans and detailed procedures
• Development of an appropriate M&E systems required to ensure accurate reporting against agreed performance metrics to meet internal and external reporting requirements on biodiversity for all of the contractor activities, net gain initiatives, IBLAC, and for other reporting purposes
• Contribute to the scope development, contract negotiation and implementation of the species and habitat specific survey programs required by the Biodiversity Methods Manager and the Biodiversity Managers for Forests/Wetlands and Rangelands pillars
• Contribute as a Biodiversity and Ecosystems services specialist in Environment and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), ensuring that aspects of Biodiversity and Ecosystems services are well incorporated into the ESIA process.
• Oversee the development of Tilenga Feeder Pipeline BESAP and assist the Biodiversity Methods Manager in the implementation of the BESAP in accordance with ESIA requirements.
• Participate in planning for the restoration of construction areas, ensuring that restoration is appropriately done to allow viable re-vegetation, to maintain the ecological integrity of the impacted areas.
• Ensure that biodiversity data gathering, trend analysis and data sharing is undertaken in accordance with agreed protocols - making constructive suggestions on how to improve these as and when appropriate- both directly when in the field, and indirectly when working with partners.
• Identify and raise issues with Biodiversity Methods Manager to ensure that the contractors and field teams deliver to a high standard in-line with overall biodiversity objectives.
• Report any activities that do not seem to fit with the proper application of the Mitigation Hierarchy
• Participate in analysis of biodiversity data, review of reports in-line with experience.
• Help ensure that appropriate specific, realistic, and robust risk assessments are developed for the field team, and by the contractors for their activities, working in conjunction with Biodiversity Field Superintendent
• Contribute to building an open and trusting relationship with regulators, mandated institutions, and Civil Society Organizations through regular and open biodiversity engagements.
• Contribute to producing internal and external publications
• Promote and raise awareness, at all levels of the organization, of the impact of emerging environmental issues and in particular ones associated with biodiversity, whether legislative or best practice.
• Train staff at all levels in biodiversity issues and responsibilities.

Qualifications And Required Experience
• Bachelor of Science, in Environmental Science with specialism in Ecology, Zoology or Conservation Biology.
• At least 5 year's professional experience in Applied Ecology, in an operational setting (preferably oil and gas or other similar industry).
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of both national legislation and biodiversity/environmental policies, international best practices/standards e.g. IFC, BBOP, EPIV
• Good understanding of local/national instructions and agencies (NFA, UWA, MWE etc.) is an added advantage
• Practical experience of undertaking or participating in ESIAs and development/implementation of Biodiversity management plans.
• Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Strong report writing and analytical skills

Job Title: Biodiversity Engineer - Forests/NBS
Reports to: Biodiversity Manager Forests & Wetlands

Activities
• Participate in the development of studies and programs aimed at achieving the company objectives of NNL/NG under the direction of the Biodiversity Manager for Wetlands/Forests Pillars of the Tilenga Biodiversity Program
• Work with partners and experts to identify and roll out collaborative forestry management program(s) and local/national wetland user groups/freshwater programs and ensure the design, implementation and monitoring of program activities are in accordance with the biodiversity program targets, aligned with regional sustainable development planning and national policy.
• Contribute in development and revision of key guiding documents such as the Biodiversity Ecosystem Services Action Plan and associated documentation
• Contribute as a specialist in the development of the regional cumulative impacts management strategy particularly in relation to forests and wetland activities including input to the landscape wide chimpanzee action plan
• Provide local support to TEPU Business Development and HQ NBS unit in designing and roll out of identified NBS opportunities ensuring that objectives of the Tilenga Biodiversity program and NBS teams are aligned
• Support the mapping of conservation activities including REDD+, CFM, wetlands, Carbon sequestration and NBS activities along Lake Albert and Budongo/Bugoma forest corridor
• Coordinate with other agencies and partners to obtain lessons learned and gain understanding of best practice in relation to sustainable wetland use specific to the wetlands of Lake Albert and Murchison Falls Albert Delta Wetland System.
• Participate in planning and execution of forest restoration activities to be undertaken by identified partners ensuring that restoration is appropriately done to allow viable re-vegetation and to maintain the ecological integrity.
• Participate in planning and execution activities aimed at promoting sustainable use of wetland areas
• Participate in the development of key monitoring and evaluation criteria for forests and wetlands pillars and review data to identify trends and ensure that adaptive management is undertaken
• Contribute to the identification and roll out of community conservation activities for
• Take regular part in gathering data in-line with agreed protocols e.g. monitoring of chimpanzees and other habitat/species specific surveys and make constructive suggestions on how to improve these as and when appropriate- both directly when in the field, and indirectly when working with partners.

Qualifications and Required Experience

• At least 5 year's professional experience in a field related to natural resource management, climate change, ecosystem-based management, green and nature based enterprises
• Experience in biodiversity offsetting in a large-scale development is highly desirable
• Proven practical experience in CFM, NBS context is an added advantage
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of both National and International environmental legislations, and International best practices/standards e.g. IFC, IUCN Green Lis etc.
• Practical experience of undertaking or participating in ESIAs is an added advantage.
• Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Strong report writing and analytical skills

Within the CLIENT Project Control team, assistance is required to lead planning and reporting Engineer
Activities
• To adopt and demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regard to HSSE and to implement and control HSSE rules and requirements within his area of responsibility.
• To develop, implement and maintain procedures, means and tools in order to ensure the efficient organization mand operation of the scheduling, progress control and reporting activities.
• To define (and update as necessary) a suitable Work Breakdown Structure complying with Project needs in terms of progress control, cost control and reporting, for all phases of the Project.
• To develop, update and revise the overall integrated Project Schedules as required by Project Management, mand to provide analyses and simulations of new schedules also as required.
• To assist Packages scheduling team to review and comment contractors' procedures and schedules, scheduling mand progress control methodology, and to monitor contractors' execution schedule, to check and approve contractors' progress measurement and progress reports.
• To organize, during the Execution phase, co-ordinate, supervise and control all the activities of Planning Engineers, by informing, supporting and directing them in their roles, responsibilities and objectives.
• To consolidate Ugandan content man-hours from all packages.
• To define (and update as necessary) a suitable Monthly Report structure complying with
• Concessionaire/Partners and Project needs.
• To perform the reporting activities as informed and directed by the Services Leader.
• To develop Project Monthly Report / Project Weekly Report (and any other report as requested) during all phases of Project, as directed by the Services Leader.
• As a general manner, to provide assistance to the Project Management for all matters related to scheduling and progress reporting and general reporting, and to manage all activities related to scheduling and reporting (as directed).
• To timely report to the Project Services Leader, highlighting progress and encountered areas of concern.
Context and environment
A Green Field Project, the Tilenga development is to be carried out in a remote location in UGANDA near Albert lake with particularly sensitive environmental conditions.
A challenging onshore project; heavy and waxy oils produced from 31 drilling pads, (with some of them located in a national park) and treated in a Production Center of 200,000bopd oil capacity and 650,000 bld of water treatment capacity. Reservoir pressure maintenance is ensured either by water injection or by polymer water injection depending on the reservoirs characteristics. The project also includes an extended interconnecting network with temperature preservation.
Multicultural environment: Contractors are anticipated to be located in various parts of the world. Ugandan rules and regulations, administrative requirements and technical authorizations as well as international codes for onshore plant will apply.

Accountabilities
• Responsible for all the scheduling, planning and progress measurement activities for the TILENGA Project, and for the reporting at project level all along the course of the Project.
• As such, the job holder is responsible for:
• Supervising, controlling and coordinating the activities related to Work Packages scheduling and planning and progress measurement; this includes active participation to the development of the project integrated project schedule supervision of scheduling and progress measurement activities during the Execution phase.
• Developing and maintaining schedules at Project level, with analysis of critical path and potential clashes and proposal of remedial actions/solutions.
• Ensuring availability at all times of an updated and accurate scheduling and progress measurement documentation.
• Ensuring reporting at Project level (issue of Weekly reports, Monthly Status Report...) as directed by the Services Leader.
• Liaise actively with all the Project Package Managers (mainly) for all scheduling and progress measurement related activities.
Qualifications/Experience required
The Service Provider must have the following qualifications:
• BSc or equivalent in a technical discipline or appropriate experience.
Experience: 15+ years’ practical, relevant and progressive experience in in planning of projects in Oil & Gas and/or Infrastructure related industries

• Define and implement the Warehouse and Stock Management strategies and policies and oversee monitoring the implementation of the Warehouse and Stock Management activities.
• Ensure all equipment and premises are adapted to the proper storage of goods in compliance with the QHSE requirements and Good Distribution Practices.
• Ensure technical support for activity area and providing coaching to staff under his/her responsibility.

Qualification Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related.
• At least 8 years similar experience with 5 years in oil and gas industry.
• EPC work experience is required.

• Support set-up the Materials Management System, Smart Plant Materials (SPM) and provide technical support and training
• Development and implementation of the Material Management Plan, Requisition List, and Material Responsibility Matrix

Qualification Requirements:
• Degree in Engineering / Material Management.
• Interprets internal or external business issues and recommends best practices.
• At least 10 years of related working experience
• Experience using Supply Chain Management software, Smart Plant Materials (SMAT). Knowledge of AWP as a project management methodology and familiarity with all phases of a project lifecycle.
