Reporting To Principal Web Administrator
Job Purpose: Manage the University’s online presence in coordination with the public relations office. And provide administrative and technical management of all facets of a principal university website, consisting of a comprehensive range of associated web pages
Key, Duties and Responsibilities
1. Implement the University’s web administrative related policies and procedures;
2. Administer address assignment and access according to an approved plan and access policy;
3. Design and manage primary University website in accordance with the university’s identity guidelines;
4. Produce templates and designs of various Units web pages;
5. Keep abreast of changes in social media and incorporate these within university systems
6. Ensure integrity of the University’s online presence through monitoring Web servers and their performance
7. Maintain records of who is ultimately responsible for website they host;
8. Administer and monitor access levels including blocking unauthorized access;
9. Perform any other relevant duties assigned by the Supervisor
Required Qualifications
i. Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any other related field specialization in web design.
ii. Honours Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any other related field with relevant hands on experience in web design and management.
iii. Relevant professional certification.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in managing online presence of large organizations.
Skills/Competences
i. Knowledge in web design and maintenance

iii. Good conceptual skills;
iv. Output oriented;
v. Initiative and innovation;
vi. Knowledge of open source software and platforms and relevant programming languages

JOB DETAILS:Post Systems Administrator - Directorate Of Ict Support

Reporting To Principal Systems Administrator
Job Purpose: Provide expert to all core/ central information systems viz: (academic, research and administrative). Perform system tuning and recovery procedures for the university critical centralize systems and ensure high uptime, performance and security of the systems.
Key, Duties and Responsibilities
1. Plan and coordinate ICT training requirements for staff in their respective units in line Installation, management and maintenance of application servers and related university systems;
2. Investigate and analyse the feasibility of system requirements and develop system specifications to prevent problems and to improve systems performance;
3. Maintain operating systems, business applications and security tools;
4. Evaluate related hardware and software products and make recommendations for adoption;
5. Plan and recommend the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications;
6. Implement system installations, expansion, upgrades and improvements;
7. Automate tasks through scripting and adoption of software/hardware tools;
8. Undertake periodic internal audits of all university systems;
9. Organise and schedule External system Audits;
10. Provide expert support for the information system applications in the respective units;
11. Participate in developing internal local software in liaison with the systems Manager;
12. Backup and restore University systems;
13. Analyse system logs and identify potential risk issues with University systems;
14. Trouble shoot any reported problems with University systems;
15. Set up and implement security policies for users of all university core systems.
Required Qualifications
i. Master’s degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering or Computer Science;
ii. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Software Engineering;
iii. An Oracle Certificate Association (OCA);
iv. Certification in UNIX systems administration
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years working experience in administration and management of Information Systems open source platforms for systems, networks and databases
Skills/Competences
i. Knowledge of relevant programming languages particularly for web-based systems;
ii. Knowledge in Systems auditing and evaluation;
iii. Knowledge in other relational database management systems (MYSQL, POSTGRESS and MS SQLServer);
iv. Interpersonal &communication skills;
v. Good conceptual skills
vi. Ability to initiate change

The Entebbe Pediatric Surgery Centre, located in Uganda, on the shores of Lake Victoria is part of the project “Healthcare Excellence Network in Africa” created in 2009 in order to develop free and excellent health systems in African Countries, in collaboration with the African Network of Medical Excellence (ANME).
The IT Officer is in charge of the teaching and supervision of the local IT Staff. (S)He is responsible to the Hospital Manager and to the IT Field Operations Department based in Milan.
Duties and responsibilities
The main duties and responsibilities consist in providing the following services:
• collaborating, supervising and teaching the IT staff;
• managing the infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, databases, VoiP, malware protection software and other processes;
• creating and verifying data backups and disaster recovery procedures;
• creating, contributing and maintaining an updated documentation;
• monitoring the system daily and responding immediately to security or usability concerns;
• upgrading systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution;
• collecting needs/requests and proposing solutions;
• managing the configuration and operation of client-based computer operating systems;
• responding to the help desk requests and solving them;
• installing and testing computer-related equipment.
Required skills
• Knowledge of Active Directory and management of Windows domains
• Management of network devices and protocols and their security appliances

JOB DETAILS:Reports to: Systems Administrator
Duration: 5years renewable upon satisfactory performance.
Qualifications:
• Applicant should hold a good Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognized institution of higher learning.
• At least five years' experience in software and hardware support as an ICT Technician in a busy organization.
• Possession of professional Certifications as ICT Technician will be added advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, CCNA, IT Essentials (ITE) and Microsoft Certified IT Professional)
Skills Required:
The applicant must:
• Have good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be able to work under pressure and in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Have knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
