JOB DETAILS:
The Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) is established under the PPDA Act No.1 of 2003 to develop standards and regulate procurement and disposal practices in respect of all Procuring and Disposing Entities which include Central Government Ministries and Departments, Local Governments, State Enterprises, Constitutional and Statutory Bodies and post primary training institutions.

The PPDA has an opportunity for one IT Volunteer:
Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide Users with timely IT Support
• Install and Setup of Software, Hardware and Peripheral Equipment
• Troubleshoot Hardware, OS and other IT Problems that may arise
• Backup and Restoration of User and Server Data
• Software Developers will have an added advantage (Open Source + PHP+LAMP Stack)
• Any other duties that might be assigned

Qualifications
• Has just completed or graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or Information Technology from a recognized university.
• Completed at-least one internship satisfactorily during the course of study with references

Terms Of Engagement
• The IT Volunteer will be offered a contract and no monthly salary.
• Duration of engagement shall be a period of three months renewed once.

JOB DETAILS:
Data Manager
Reports to: Deputy Medical Director – Administration
Location: Kampala
Job Summary: To manage Hospital data by ensuring accuracy and security of electronic and non-electronic information; develop and implement systems that offer timely and efficient generation, analysis, dissemination and proper storage of medical and non-medical Hospital information and records.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement an effective Data and Records management strategy that will enable attainment of the Hospital Corporate strategy and vision.
• Develop and implement annual department plans and budgets to pursue the above strategy.
• Develop standard department systems and processes that will promote efficiency and effectiveness.
• Spearhead the development and implementation of the data management, records and information policy of the Hospital
• Supervise and train staff and subordinates on how to collect data manage it and promote high quality service
• Liaise with Medical and Nursing staff to conduct quality assessment of data on all wards
• Carry out periodic auditing of the data and data systems
• Produce complete, accurate, consistent data and reports as may be required
• Streamline data collection and analysis procedures to ensure fast access to metrics
• Participate in research/data review meetings where necessary
• Compile the weekly, monthly and quarterly HMIS reports and ensure timely submission to the District Health Information Systems, MOH, CDC
• Provide technical support on the utilization of the different databases namely OPEN MRS, EPI INFO etc.
• Perform any other duties incidental to the above as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Business Statistics, Computer Science, or the equivalent from a recognized institution
• A minimum of three years of experience in data management/analysis preferably in a Clinical Research setting
• Experience in using relational databases such as SPSS, ACCESS, STATA, EPI INFO, SQL databases, in database modeling

JOB DETAILS:
IT Security Administrator
Reports to: IT Manager
Location: Kampala
Job Summary: The ICT Security Administrator will coordinate and monitor the data security of the Hospital’s Information Systems, compliance with standard ICT security practices, providing consultation and creating a general awareness on the ICT security to all staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• The security administrator will ensure the network's security, protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction, and troubleshoot any access problems.
• Develop and support organizational security standards, best practices, preventative measures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Identify and report on both application and infrastructure security breaches.
• Ensures vulnerability scans are run on an established schedule. Implements software patches and security fixes.
• Develops and maintains system documentation of environment and application configuration
• Providing technical support to end users including security related organizational policies
• Develop, manage and implement the data privacy monitoring plan including regular assessments to ensure compliance to with the Uganda Data Protection & Privacy Act
• Maintain records of all data processing activities conducted by the hospital
• Conduct staff training and awareness sessions in data protection and privacy
• Serve as the point of contact between the person, institution or public body, and the Personal Data Protection Office
• Perform any other duties incidental to the above as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Minimum of a Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related course from a recognised Institution.
• Relevant Professional Security Certifications an added advantage.
• Experience with Firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, Wireless security, Encryption, Data security, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft 365 Cloud Solutions, VMware, Cisco switching and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Technical expertise and experience with the ability to develop a security plan, coordinate and implement it, and monitor the IT environment
• An understanding of regulatory standards and how to ensure the business achieves compliance
