The work schedule for this position is:
• Full Time, 40 hours per week
Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) following receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
Supervisory Position: No
Duties: Assigned to the GSO Property section performing general appliances and equipment repairs at the Warehouse, Chancery and leased residential properties.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Education: Completion of secondary school (O&A level) and vocational training or apprenticeship recognized as producing electrician skills is required.
Requirements:
Experience: Three years’ experience in appliance repair and installation/electrical work is required.
Job knowledge: Must have full electrician knowledge of established practices, handling of appliances/equipment and procedures of the electrical trade.
Evaluations: (This may be tested)
Language: Level III (Good working knowledge) English, both spoken and written is required. Level III (Good working knowledge) Luganda both spoken and written is required.
Skills and abilities: Must have the ability to use all mechanical and electrical tools/equipment professionally to determine extent of damage and experience to make necessary recommendations for equipment repair or replacement. Must hold valid Class B Ugandan driver’s license. Must have computer skills i.e., knowledge in Excel, Microsoft word, outlook etc.
Qualifications: All applicants under consideration will be required to pass medical and security certifications.

Qualifications and Evaluations
EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school (both ‘O’ and ‘A’ levels) and attainment of advanced certificate/diploma in electrical and electronic applications is required.
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of four years progressively responsible experience in the electrical or electronic field is required.
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must have full working knowledge in electrical theories and safety procedures and be proficient in electrical troubleshooting.
Evaluations: (This may be tested)
LANGUAGE: English Level 3 – Good working knowledge; written & spoken is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to work independently. Proper use of both hand tools and electrical or electronic testing equipment. Must be available for on-call duty 24 hours a day. Must hold a valid drivers’ license for a minimum of five years with classes B, CM, DL.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure management livestock field operating tools
• Ensure health and nutritional of all livestock resources of the university
• Oversees the university livestock
• Support students with livestock-related practical lectures
• Evaluates university compliancy and adherence to national livestock operating standards
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
• Should have an earned diploma from recognized farm institution in livestock production and management
• Should have at least 3 years in a reputable farm/ livestock organization
• Should have broad knowledge of the national and local knowledge on animal breeds, nutrition and health.
