JOB SUMMARY
The Driver is responsible for providing reliable and safe driving services to staff of the Authority and authorized visitors and will ensure highest standards of discretion and integrity, sense of responsibility, excellent knowledge of protocol and security in the execution of his / her duties. He/ she will demonstrate a client – oriented approach, courtesy, confidentiality, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds. Additionally, He/she will be responsible for delivery or collection of mails, documents and other items on behalf of the Petroleum Authority of Uganda.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive the assigned office vehicle for official purposes such as transporting Employees to carry out official field activities.
• Keep any assigned vehicle in a clean and good state.
• Deliver mail as and when assigned.
• Ensure that the assigned vehicle is in perfect mechanical condition before transporting any staff or authorised visitors through regular checking of the vehicle.
• Keep a clean record of the fuel issued / consumed and journeys made in the logbook to simplify the accountability of fuel used.
• Ensure that routine servicing is done in time by monitoring the service mileage of the vehicle regularly.
• Keep a tracker to ensure validity of both third party and comprehensive insurances so that they are renewed when necessary.
• Undertake any other assignments as may be directed from time to time.

JOB DETAILS:Key duties and responsibilities
• Ensuring safe custody of the vehicle.
• Ensuring that the vehicle is regularly cleaned.
• Obeying all traffic regulations.
• Drive the Project vehicle during assigned official duties.
• Make requests for service of the vehicle when required.
• On a daily basis, update and maintain the vehicle log book.
• Routinely report any defects, accidents and mechanical defaults to relevant authorities.
• Perform other related duties as required by the Administrative and Logistics Officer.
Qualification and Experience
• A Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with at least a pass in English Language.
• Clean driving license with CM classes.
• At least minimum of five years of driving experience in a reputable organization.
• Must have passed competency driving test by the Ministry of Works and Transport or an equivalent institution
• Training in motor vehicle mechanics is an added advantage.

JOB DETAILS:Job Description
Material Logistics
• Verify the readiness of contractors and their equipment required for the performance of the operations, as well as ensuring all non-required equipment is backloaded, under the direction of the DCSSV.
• Ensure with DCSSV that all required equipment for next operations and unrequired backloads are in the 3-week lookahead planning to ensure continuous optimized operations.
• Liaises with Senior material man at the base, all third-party vendors and Well Engineering team for the future operations equipment lists consolidation
• Draft and issue materiel Work Orders to the drilling services contractors
• Ensure received Equipment are as per manifest, backload manifests are properly filled, and trucks are released in time. Ensures all material records are kept and reconciliation of all material usage is done
• Keep an up-to-date inventory of rig site materiel stock o Liaise with the Rig Contractor and Logistics department to ensure all the Rig move logistics means are received on time
• Personnel Logistics
• Coordinate and arrange personnel transportation on/off rig.
• Ensure correct POB is updated at all times 24/7 not to overshoot the maximum POB, and to liaise POB forecast with DCSSV for 3 week lookahead planning.
• Ensures all drilling services contractors resources are provided in accordance with the relevant Work Order
Candidate profile
Qualifications and Experience:
• Diploma or degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience
• Minimum 2 years in a similar role supporting Wells operations or at least 1 year as drilling/ completion supervisor.
• High proficiency with IT and industry software including MS Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Knowledge of Wellview.
• Up to date with necessary HSE trainings
• Experience of SAP is preferred

JOB DETAILS:Overview
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID)/Uganda Biodiversity for Resilience (B4R) Activity (2020-2025) provides technical assistance to communities, the government of Uganda, and the private sector, to conserve and manage biodiversity in target ecosystems for lasting environmental and economic sustainability and increased community and household resilience.
The Activity supports community wildlife conservancies and protected area management while promoting market-based solutions, including nature-based tourism and other conservation enterprises, to improve stewardship of the natural resources necessary to sustain Uganda’s economic development. Additional cross-cutting activities include promotion of resiliency strategies; inclusion of women, youth, and other marginalized people; private sector engagement; capacity building; and deliberate use of collaborating, learning, and adapting techniques.
The Activity currently has its HQ in Kampala in the upper Kololo areas and 3 regional offices in the landscapes of Lake Mburo, Murchison falls, and Karamoja region (Kitgum, Abim Kaabong and Kareng ) Kidepo Landscape.
Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Field Operations Officer, the position is to drive, maintain, and manage the project vehicle for the USAID/Uganda Biodiversity for Resilience (B4R) Activity within the allocated project scope. The position is based in Karenge district.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties:
• Drive the project vehicles with strict adherence to local traffic laws and in accordance with project rules and regulations pertaining to vehicles.
• Transport project staff and materials in Greater Kidepo Valley Landscape and the regions of operation.
• Maintain the vehicle in a satisfactory condition, including weekly cleaning of the interior and exterior and periodic (quarterly) cleaning of the motor and chassis.
• Ensure that tires are in good working conditions at all time, and that spare tire is in good condition.
• Ensure that vehicle usage log is updated daily and submitted on a monthly basis.
• Ensure that fuel consumption report is submitted as required.
• Ensure regular maintenance of the vehicle, and that fluids (water, oil, fuel, washer liquid, etc.) levels are at required levels.
• Report any apparent malfunction to the supervisor.
• Report any damage or accident to the supervisor immediately.
• Ensure that the vehicle is safely parked and locked when not in use.
• Carry out project errands as required
Qualifications
Minimum Required Education & Experience
• Secondary schooling desirable
• 5 years of experience in driving a project vehicle, preferably for a USAID or other donor project
• Valid driver’s license in good standing
• Defensive driving certificate will be a plus
• Familiar with the Karamoja region territory
Core Competencies
• Knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repairs.
• Knowledge of radio, email, telephone and other applications.
