The LWF Uganda Program is looking for qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position;
Job Title: IT Officer.
No. of Positions: One (01).
Duty Station: Kampala Office.
Reports to: IT Manager.
Starting Date: ASAP
Duration of Contract: 1 year contract (with possibility of extension).

Job Summary
The IT Officer will perform an array of tasks to ensure that the organization’s computer network is running smoothly and efficiently, resolve IT problems on a daily basis both accurately and timely. The IT Officer will also be responsible for writing reports, tracking inventory, training staff on new technologies, and developing contingency plans in case of network failure; ensure the safe and efficient running of a business’s IT system and provide daily user assistance both hardware and software.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Use of Power Apps. Use and manage the organization’s business power apps to support employees accomplish their duties. Support the team in maintaining and delivering IT service help desk tickets resolution
• Installing and Configuring. Install and configure networks to new electronic gadgets purchased by the organization so that employees can begin using it as quickly as possible. Additionally, new computer networks will have to be configured to suit the organization’s unique needs.
• Setting up Peripherals. Set peripherals to complement the computer network and smart devices and ensure that they are both functional and secure.
• Maintaining and Repairing. Check the organization’s network for errors, repair malfunctioning peripherals, and help colleagues troubleshoot problems.
• Data Management. Collaborate with the team to manage and analyze data and the impact data management has on business goals.
• Keeping Records. As part of ongoing work, IT Officer is required to keep detailed records of their network’s configurations, peripheral specifications, problems and solutions, and more. Maintain a report on the digital tools meeting minimum standards of hardware and software for the organization.
• Provide technical assistance, the IT Officer will prepare and maintain documents, particularly for organizational policies and procedures.
Key skills required:
• On a daily basis, IT Officer will use the knowledge of networks, systems, and software tools to make sure the organization’s digital infrastructure works properly.
• Computer network skills – extensive knowledge of the inner workings of computer networks, as well as how to operate and repair them is essential
• Ability to analyse and work with electronic peripherals you may have never encountered before
• Excellent attention to detailed records of highly complex networks
• Well-developed in written and verbal communication skills working with colleagues and users on a daily basis
• In order to accomplish the daily goals, IT Assistant should be familiar with the following variety of tools:
• SQL database management skills; Knowledge of cloud-based applications and their security; Recent versions of Microsoft Office software suites and Office 365 applications; Foundational cyber security skills and mechanisms is a key requirement; Computer network, hardware, and software able to use a variety of these tools to complete tasks; Standard office & communications equipment – knowledge of standard office equipment uses

• Results-oriented individual who loves to tackle tough problems and find creative solutions.
• As comfortable interacting with people as with installing a computer network, and excellent at applying your skills to unfamiliar issues.
• The ability to think logically
• A good memory of how software and operating systems work

• Attention to detail and a high degree of cyber security awareness.
Qualifications:
• A degree in computer science/Information technology, proficiency in SQL, Java, XML, C/C++ or any other related data management field is required.

S/he will work with thematic leads, project, and regional teams to create and produce evidence-based or data-driven content for different stakeholders. S/he will collaborate with the ACCM team to develop innovative ideas and demonstrate exceptional content presentation skills. • At least a degree in social science, human rights, development, international relations and journalism/mass communication.
• At least six years of experience in leading communications and media work for a large organisation, preferably NGO, and team management experience.
• Knowledge of and/or direct work experience in the non-profit sector.
• Experience in developing and implementing communications and media strategies.
• Personnel and budget management experience.
• Excellent representational skills with a proven track record of influencing key audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically, to analyse complex information and offer creative, practical and effective solutions.
• Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, including an ability to deal with people at all levels with credibility, tact, and diplomacy.
