Learning & Leadership for Economic Empowerment
The Challenges Group is a long-standing provider of management and leadership training to a range of audiences globally, including through our strategic partnership with the Chartered Management Institute. We are seeking a Business Development Manager for our Scotland based Learning & Leadership team. The Learning & Leadership team are responsible for facilitating a range of training delivery to a number of key client groups in Scotland, either within programmes that support under-represented groups (such as the award-winning Making Work Work) or as a B2B training offer.

Job Description

The role
We are seeking skilled individuals to take on Associate roles under the Business Advisory Team, to support with the delivery of our work under the Advisory Services. You will work closely with the Programme Lead to deliver your duties.

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Project Support
  • Support entrepreneurs in starting ad growing their businesses through tailored business advisory services
  • Coach and mentor entrepreneurs to enhance their business management skills
  • Develop and adapt training material to meet to meet the needs of diverse audiences
  • Deliver training sessions on entrepreneurship skills using established curricula
  • Facilitate interactive and inclusive training sessions that encourage active participation
  1. Project Monitoring and Reporting
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives and activities
  • Monitor program activities and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare and submit timely reports.
  • Ensuring that KPIs are achieved within agreed timelines and within budget
  1. Partnerships
  • Maintain strong relationships with partners, clients and other stakeholders
  • Represent the organization at relevant evets and meetings to strengthen its visibility and impact
  1. Additional Responsibilities
  • Carry out administrative tasks and support colleagues as required, including event coordination, meeting attendance etc
  • Contribute to continuous learning and cross-team collaboration across the Challenges Group.

Person Specification

  1. Education and Experience: Essential
    Bachelor's degree in business administration, entrepreneurship, finance, economics or related Ternary
    A minimum of 3 years' experience working at a similar position with responsibilities in the planning and delivery of business advisory services.
    Demonstrated experience in project management and process development
    Experience in business development or entrepreneurship (business planning, financial management, market research among others), as well as managing and supporting SMEs through a development process.
    Strong advisory and mentorship skills to support entrepreneurs in developing and scaling their businesses
  2. Skills and Competencies:
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels
    Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
    Strong project management skills, including project development, monitoring and evaluation
    Flexible and adaptable with an ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
    High level of IT competence, particularly Microsoft Office
