JOB DETAILS:

Overall Purpose of Job:
The Construction & Maintenance (C&M) Manager is to oversee the coordination and completion of all construction and maintenance work at Musana Camps.

Required Spiritual Qualities
It is expected that the C&M Manager will;
• Acknowledge Jesus Christ as Savior and seek to live life as His disciple, while making disciples as they go.
• Believe and actively support Musana Camps’ statement of faith.
• Demonstrate a desire for spiritual growth as evidenced by their prayer life, Bible study, and accountability.
• Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech and actions toward others. (Luke 6:40) This includes demonstrating servant leadership.
• It also includes being committed to God’s Biblical standards for marriage and living out the testimony of Christ in the home.
• Actively participate in a Bible believing church.

Required Professional Qualities
It is expected that the C&M Manager will present;
• A Bachelor’s degree in related field
• At least 3 years’ experience in related fields of construction and all-round maintenance works.
• Report writing
• Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace Applications (Gmail, Drive, Forms)
• Good people and management skills
• Experience in handling a dynamic range of people groups in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
• Manage construction projects. This includes developing plans, creating estimates, adhering to government codes and regulations, sub-contracting or self-performing work, tracking expenditures for ongoing and completed work, maintaining quality standards for all work performed, ensuring that reasonable levels of safety are maintained, and providing Musana Camps required documentation.
• Work with the Camp Management team and the Director to plan out new camp construction, expansion, renovation and development projects.
• Perform construction and maintenance tasks as required by Camp departments. Tasks may include such things as dirt work, concrete, masonry, welding, woodwork, electrical, plumbing, painting, mechanics, and cleaning.
• Attend and contribute to management meetings on matters concerning camp as a whole with emphasis on the department.
• Oversee the C&M assistant and construction contract labourers. Provide necessary job-related training, and be able to offer appropriate spiritual and relational guidance.
• Oversee the purchase and management of all necessary construction and maintenance supplies. Forward the appropriate requisitions and crosscheck all accountability of funds.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop both inside and outside as well as work sites, especially when camp visitors are near the site.
• Keep track of and take care of all equipment and tools. All damages or losses should be reported immediately to the management team.
• Maintain good communication with the Camp Manager and other staff.
• Be willing and flexible to assist with things that may not be listed in this job description.
