JOB DETAILS:
Job Purpose
Plan, develop and coordinate all Estates and Works functions in the University.

Key, Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide professional technical support to stake holders in line with the University Strategic plan and Estate and Works policy;
• Develop work target for the Estate and Works Departments in accordance with strategic plan;
• Produce reports to the vice chancellor on the activities of Housing and Works Committees;
• Plan, budget and account for resources for the Directorate;
• Provide Secretarial services to the Housing and Works Committees;
• Supervise maintenance and upkeep of plant;
• Supervise capital projects in the university;
• Coordinator the execution of works (Civil, Mechanical and Electrical)
• Supervise and appraise staff.

Required Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering;
• Honour's Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from a recognized University;
• Must be a registerd Engineer with the Engineers Registration Board of Uganda and a member of the Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers;
• Post Graduate qualification in Public Infrastructure Management;
• Post Graduate qualification in project planning and Management is added advantage.

Experience
A minimum of 12 years relevant working experience 3 of which must have been at level of manager in a reputable organization.

Skills/Competences
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Good communication skills
• Computer literate, capable of using word processing, spread sheet and database-computer software packages;
• Knowledge in Project management, strategic planning and budgeting
