Education Advisor at VVOB
Organization:
VVOB is an international NGO based in Brussels, Belgium, with programs in 10 countries. It focuses on improving quality education to achieve sustainable development goals by building the capacity of governmental and other education actors.
Position Overview:
The Education Advisor will provide technical assistance to education partners at UNITE campuses (Mubende, Gulu, Arua) to develop and roll out Continuous Professional Development (CPD) courses on Project-Based Learning (PBL) for O-level agriculture and entrepreneurship teachers. The goal is to align teaching and assessment practices with Uganda’s competency-based curriculum. The role is part of the Green LEAP program (2022–2026), funded by the Belgian government, aimed at enhancing teaching quality in secondary schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Co-design and improve macro-, meso-, and micro-curricula for PBL CPD courses (PAT and PET) in collaboration with UNITE campuses.
- Assess capacity development needs and implement blended learning trajectories for partners.
- Support quality implementation of the program through coaching, feedback collection, and course refinement.
- Develop instructional materials (hand-outs, quizzes, assignments) for online and in-person CPD courses.
- Collaborate with VVOB teams and education partners to ensure program fidelity and sustainability.
Requirements:
- Ugandan national with a Master’s degree in education, human sciences, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in developing CPD courses for O-level teachers (in-person and online).
- Expertise in PBL, including design, teaching practices, and assessment.
- Experience in change management, capacity development, and Uganda’s education system.
- Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Competencies:
- VVOB Core: Cooperation, Continuous Improvement, Result Orientation.
- Role-Specific: Creativity, Development Orientation, Empathy, Communication, Problem Analysis.

- Fixed-term contract until December 2026 (renewable based on performance/funding).
