JOB DETAILS:
About the Role:
Sama is searching for a talented Human Resource professional to support our People Operations function

Responsibilities
Policy Management
• Ensure People Operations policies comply with changing laws and regulations
• Act as the project manager for transitioning from Kenya and Uganda Employee Handbooks to an online policy platform
• Update and maintain all People policies relevant in Kenya and Uganda and the online policy platform for the region
• Oversee and support the timely dissemination of policy changes across company-wide online portals and in onboarding material
• Collaborate with HRBPs to ensure regular sensitisation of policies
• Update and draft new People Operations policies and contribute to developing other policies for the East Africa region
• Manage the online policy management platform for EA
• Establish and oversee the process for obtaining and storing employee policy acknowledgements

Compliance
• Serve as both contributor and project manager for People related infosec activities in EA
• Maintain and update the People team risk register
• Support ISO and project-specific audits

Compensation Support
• Contribute to creating and updating salary benchmarks for Kenya and Uganda
• Contribute to setting Production team compensation levels annually
• Project manage the process for Production team progressions and promotions and Corporate staff promotions
• Respond to employee queries regarding compensation
• Support administration of benefits like Medical, pension, WIBA and others
• Project manage compensation increase and bonus payout processes
• Support the development of Sama’s compensation strategy

Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years of human resources experience, including policies and compensation
• Experience drafting policies and procedures and maintaining a set of policies for a large employee population
• Proven project management experience
• Experience supporting internal audits
• Experience applying compensation benchmark data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to research, interpret and apply appropriate sections of applicable laws and regulations to policies
