JOB DETAILS:
Position Overview:
• Company: Numida
• Location: Offices in Kampala, Nairobi; distributed teams in Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, and Canada.
• Industry: FinTech
• Focus: Developing and scaling a mobile app for small business owners in Africa to provide accessible financial services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set the Vision:
o Own the app roadmap.
o Solve customer needs.
o Identify emerging trends and technologies.
2. Create the Ultimate User Experience:
o Use customer feedback to build intuitive and fast apps.
o Optimize for low-bandwidth environments.
3. Inspire the Team:
o Collaborate across engineering, design, marketing, and customer experience.
o Align teams around a shared vision.
4. Data-Driven Decision Making:
o Analyze key metrics (loan disbursement, repayment, reborrowing, etc.).
o Use insights to improve app functionality and performance.
5. Deliver Results:
o Oversee smooth launches of new app features.
o Quickly iterate and optimize based on user feedback.
Experience & Skills Required:
1. Product Management Experience:
o 4+ years in product management, preferably in FinTech and emerging markets.
o Expertise in agile methodologies and mobile app development.
2. User-Centric & Data-Driven:
o Strong user research and analytics skills to inform product improvements.
3. Familiarity with Mobile & FinTech:
o Experience with mobile apps and digital financial products in Africa.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Excellent teamwork and the ability to align and energize diverse teams.
5. Communication Skills:
o Ability to present to senior leadership and effectively communicate across functions.
6. Adaptability & Resilience:
o Thrives in dynamic environments, solution-oriented, and capable of pivoting when needed.
