JOB DETAILS:
Tasks and responsibilities:
• Plan, coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the research project with all project partners, manage the project timeline, project team meetings and project laboratories.
• Supervise and coordinate 5-7 research assistants, scheduling of study participants and the collection of survey data, daily diaries, biomarkers (saliva and urine), wearable garmins, and through 2 translational neuroscience labs.
• Support the Principal Investigator (“PI”), Project Director and Research Manager in the implementation of the data collection tools and standard operating procedures. Prepare weekly progress reports for Project leadership.
• Prepare training materials, conduct training and monitor all data collection activities.
• Support the translation, back-translation and document preparation into “Luganda” (from English).
• Get trained in all study tools to be administered as part of the study. Support training of site coordinators and research assistants on all study tools and the research protocol.
• Be CITI-certified, and ensure fidelity of the study protocol, human subject’s protection and data confidentiality.
• Lead qualitative data collection and analysis efforts, develop protocol manuals and data collection instruments, recommend additional equipment/tools and resources for the study and order supplies.
• Report to the PI, Project Director and Research Manager and provide regular feedback on all activities.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Master’s degree in Public Health, Psychology, or related field. Alternatively a combination of degree and years of experience can be considered.
• Proven work experience as a Research Coordinator for new data collection, preferable a cohort study.
• Demonstrated experience in human subject’s research in a clinical or laboratory setting.
• Excellent organizational, critical thinking, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows operating system/use of computers.
• Attention to detail to ensure their research documents are accurate at all times.
• Priority-Minded – Can identify and execute on the most important issues.
• Sense of Urgency – Know when to act quickly to proactively solve problems.
