On the other hand, the Demand function takes charge of marketing and selling our products, managing relationships with route-to-consumer partners and retailers, and ultimately reaching consumers. About the role
Uganda operates within a complex and challenging environment with increasing levels of competition both in alcohol and from substitute consumer goods categories, as well as tightening legislation and increasing cost of goods sold.
The Decision Support (Business Performance Manager) - Supply position is integral to UBL's Supply Finance Team. It carries the responsibility for the comprehensive ownership and oversight of UBL's Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting, as well as the Business Performance Management (BPM) process. While this role does not entail direct reports, it holds significant importance as a key stakeholder for the supply team. Its focus lies in critical areas such as budgeting, cost center accounting tracking, and BPM reporting, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and optimal financial performance.

Role Responsibilities
• Supporting effective budgeting, control and instilling a cost discipline culture across the business.
• Providing timely insightful variance analysis/commentary to key business partners on COGS performance
• Attend all key Supply Chain senior management team meetings and ensure a strong collaborative working relationship to allow delivery of key financial targets.
• Partner with Supply HODs to understand current and future budgetary requirements and ensure delivery of operational efficiencies and cost initiatives underpinning financial forecasts to ensure spend is within Budget.
• Support all planning activities for Supply Chain, delivering Budget, Long range plans, re-forecasts and monthly rolling forecasts.
• Lead reviews of monthly performance and providing guidance and insight to drive decision making through the BPM process.
• Understand and challenge KPIs to be able to articulate key movements in spend and to drive cost efficiencies include process end to end understanding.
• Ensure proper costing of products and monitor variances to standard prices both locally and imported products.
• Ensure accuracy and timely submission of all group supply reports.
• Responsible for COGs value chain analysis end to end.
• Being up to date with the ongoing technology transformation, leveraging on new reporting tools.

Qualifications:
• Qualified accountant (CPA/ ACCA/ CIMA) and suitable university degree in finance/accounting

Experience:
• 3 – 5 years’ experience in an FMCG environment in a similar role Supply finance background, with experience of manufacturing analysis, supply chain analysis, cost accounting etc.
• Proven track record of building remote cross-functional business partnerships
• Strong Excel and presentation skills
• Experience with SAP CO, MM and FI modules, including monthly reporting and planning
• Good communications skills

• Proven ability to persuade, influence and build credibility across the functions.
• Good problem-solving techniques
