FCA has received funds from various donors to implement projects targeting Congolese and South Sudanese refugees and host community in Yumbe, Parolinya/Obongi, Kamwenge and Kyegegwa Districts. FCA is now looking for competent persons to fill vacant positions below;
Senior Finance Officer
Duty Station: Kampala
Reports to: Finance Manager.
Primary purpose: The Senior Finance Officer will support the FCA Finance Manager in financial and administrative management of the FCA/UNHCR Partnership project. .

Duties and Tasks
• Financial Management and Reporting of FCA/ UNHR partnership project
• Assist in preparing and maintaining the project account in accordance with FCA Financial Policies and procedures and to ensure financial compliance, accuracy and completeness of data for its inclusion into statement of accounts and adjustment of budgets related to the FCA/UNHCR project;
• Supports the Finance Manager in maintaining efficient financial control (of cash flows, local payment, etc.), accountability standards, procedures and records;
• Support and assists the Area Managers and the project staff on all aspects of allowances, salary advances, travel claims and other financial matters, and calculate and authorize payments due for claims and services;
• Prepares detailed cost estimates, and participates in budget analysis of UNHCR financed activities, as required;
• Manages money transfers and bank relations;
• Assist in preparing monthly financial reports in line with the monthly reporting timetable;
• To provide timely and appropriate financial information to the Finance Manager and budget holders;
• Ensure compliance with government regulations in financial and other matters (taxation and approval from local authorities); and timely payment of taxes;
• Assist the Finance Manager in coordination of internal and external audits;
• Support the field offices in strengthening systems and operational functions in relation to general administration, ensure FCA Procurement Policies compliance in UGACO operations;
• Maintain hard and electronic files and update data base systems ensuring timely and appropriate recording, safekeeping and disposal of confidential information
• Conduct follow up on all project activities to ensure efficiency, timeliness and program quality.

Qualifications
• University degree or equivalent in accounting, finance, Business Administration or other closely related field
• Experience in UNHCR funded projects is an added advantage
• Knowledge and experience in managing budgets
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Knowledge of Quick books is an asset;
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a similar position.

• High integrity, self-driven and able to set own work schedule with rigorous deadlines;
• Ability to initiate and complete assignments and to work under demanding circumstances with minimal supervision;
• Strong organization, supervisory, problem-solving, interpersonal, communication as well as team building and negotiation skills.
