Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; or Physical Sciences plus a Masters Degree in renewable energy with a bias in Physical Renewable or related field from a recognized University or Institution.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of six (6) years relevant working experience in the solar energy, wind and small hydro power systems, three (3) of which should have been served at Senior Energy Officer level in Government or equivalent level of experience from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Assistant Commissioner Physical Renewable Energy for performing the following duties:-
• Supervising the extension work by staffs on solar, wind and small hydro projects;
• Preparing and implementing activities on solar, wind and small hydro projects;
• Preparing and submitting the section work plans, budgets and strategic plans for the Division;
• Preparing and disseminating technical information, guidelines and standards on solar, wind, small hydro and geothermal projects;
• Coordinating stakeholders dealing in physical renewable energy technologies for technology development through research and development;
• Participating in the development of standards, guidelines, policies, legislations for the physical renewable energy technologies;
• Preparing and submitting technical reports to the Assistant Commissioner;
• Supervising and appraising the staff;
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
