JOB DETAILS:
The Position
Yalelo Uganda seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee the organization’s accounting function, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of all financial reporting and accounting operations. This role includes managing a team of accountants, preparing annual financial statements, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The Accounting Manager is a key liaison between the accounting department and other organizational functions. This role will be based at the Kampala head
office.

Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and other general ledger activities
2. Actively participates in month-end closing, including accrual accounting in accordance with IFRS.
3. Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards (IFRS and the Companies Act of
4. Uganda) and regulatory requirements
5. Prepare the annual financial statements of Yalelo Uganda
6. Manage external audits and liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies
7. Optimize accounting processes, workflows, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
8. Engage and manage relationships with banks, suppliers, and customers
9. Manage the insurance portfolio, ensure timely purchase and renewal of insurance
10. Review and update the Accounting Manual
11. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability

Job Requirements
This job will require you to have:
• A minimum of second-class upper bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• A full Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA)
• Top 4 audit firm experience is an added advantage.
• D365 Knowledge is an added advantage.
• At least five years of related work experience.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS
• Good understanding of internal controls.
• Strong mental & physical stamina
• Highly motivated, results driven, responsible and accountable.
• Self-sufficient, capable of independent decision making
