About the role:
We’re looking for a digital communications all-rounder with exceptional writing skills, a creative flair, a passion for social media, a keen eye for digital analytics experience and website management expertise. This role will help us amplify our message, expand our reach and revolutionise how we connect with our customers and audiences online. The Digital Communications Lead should marry a deep understanding of how to work with digital suppliers to build intelligent and informative websites with a passion for distilling complexity into accessible and hard-hitting copy. The position holder will manage three social media managers based in East Africa, West Africa and India to help them develop a social media strategy, quality assure posts, measure analytics and run sales-focused social media advertising campaigns.

The team you would join:
Our high-performing communications team leads media and digital activity for the organisation to educate African and Asian consumers about Sun King’s life-changing solar products and reveal the importance of off-grid solar solutions to private sector, technical and government audiences. The team deliver compelling communications for all our main audiences across a variety of platforms, including our website, social media and email. The team works across the organisation to translate Sun King’s experiences, evidence and work into written, video and audio communications. The team collaborates closely with renewable energy industry organisations and the international and specialised media to communicate Sun King’s work to a range of audiences.

What you would be expected to do
• Work with the Head of Communications and across the organisation to refresh Sun King’s website.
• Maintain the website providing editorial oversight.
• Managing day-to-day digital uploads.
• Drive innovation in digital communication to build Sun King's profile, grow our reach and illuminate the power of Sun King’s solar products.
• Work across the organisation to help develop a digital communications strategy that propels forward our mission and values.
• Oversee Sun King’s relationship with digital suppliers, ensuring the highest quality of work.
• Analyse digital metrics to identify insights for improving digital performance and clearly translate these insights into tangible actions for the team.
• Work with the Head of Communications, to write copy for the website that overviews and summarises Sun King’s technical work.
• Craft compelling impact stories about the communities we work with and publish them on our website.
• Produce engaging blogs and technical content as needed, showcasing your excellent copywriting skills.
• Work with the cross-functional teams like sales and marketing to finesse digital user journeys to support sales.
• Develop original social media content as needed and edit team members social media.
• Work across the organisation to support teams to deliver advertising campaigns across social media platforms, Google and other advertising platforms.
• Develop original social media content as needed and edit team members' social media posts.
• Oversee and manage three regional social media teams, ensuring they align with Sun King's brand voice and digital communication strategy.
• Coordinate with regional social media teams to generate localized content, addressing regional needs and trends.
• Set targets and monitor key performance indicators for regional social media teams, providing feedback and strategic guidance to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct regular meetings with the regional social media teams to discuss performance, upcoming campaigns, and potential improvements.
• Occasionally travel to often rural communities in Africa and Asia to gather stories about our work.

• Six plus years of experience in the communications and marketing sector.
• Excellent copywriting skills, with impeccable grammar and a captivating writing style.
• Proven expertise in translating complex ideas and rich information into short and simple communications.
• A passion for social impact, solar energy, and digital innovation.
• The ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven track record of overseeing teams, preferably in a digital communications or social media setting.
• Experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization, including content creation, monitoring engagement, and responding to audience interactions.
• Knowledge of regional social media trends and strategies for audience engagement across different platforms and geographic areas.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute social media strategies that align with larger organizational goals and brand identity.
• Thriving in a multicultural environment where you will work with people working across engineering, sales, marketing, business, inclusive finance and a range of other professional backgrounds.
• Strong analytical skills, with an eye for uncovering actionable insights from digital metrics.
• Expertise in using social media analytics tools to drive strategy and performance.
• Experience working with remote teams and managing regional differences within a global organization.
• Familiarity with social media best practices, scheduling tools, and emerging trends.
