JOB DETAILS:
Introduction
Hemat Medical Services (HMS) is one of the businesses owned by Hemat Holdings Limited, a private company limited by shares. HMS is a first-class Medical Centre that offers both general and specialized health services to the community of Buloba and neighbouring villages in Wakiso District as well as the entire country. It is located on Kampala-Mityana-Fort portal Road about 20km from Kampala City.
HMS started its operations this year in February 2025 by a team of experienced health workers with a passion to serve communities and enhance primary healthcare as we aim to contribute to Universal Health Coverage (UHC)

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting laboratory tests, analyzing results, and providing accurate and reliable data to support patient care.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct laboratory tests: Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests.
• Maintain laboratory equipment: Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly.
• Quality control: Participate in quality control activities, including proficiency testing and internal quality control.
• Patient sample management: Collect, label, and store patient samples according to standard operating procedures.
• Result reporting: Report test results accurately and efficiently.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide accurate and reliable laboratory results.
• Compliance: Adhere to laboratory policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Requirements:
• Diploma or Certificate: Diploma or Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution.
• Registration: Registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a laboratory setting.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and quality control measures.
• Skills: Proficient in laboratory equipment operation, result analysis, and reporting.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable Qualifications:
• Experience in a private medical centre: Experience working in a private medical centre or hospital.
