Description
The Uganda Association for Impact Assessment (UAIA) is a professional umbrella membership Association of Environmental Practitioners involved in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Environmental Audit as prescribed under the National Environment (Audit) Regulations, 2020 and the National Environment (Environmental and Social Assessment) Regulations, 2020 preceded by the National Environment (Conduct and Certification of Environmental Practitioners) Regulations, 2003 (S.I. No. 85 of 2003). UAIA works in partnership with National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) among other Agencies, Ministries and Departments. With both ordinary and associates combined around Uganda, we work with public and private sector partners, investigating, assessing, and generating data in proposed development projects to develop solutions to the most urgent national environment and social challenges.
Job Summary: The Executive Secretary will to the Board and be responsible for:

Key duties and responsibilities:
• Be the chief executive officer of UAIA with the prime responsibility of executing the decisions of the Board and the General Assembly.
• Ensure proper management of the staff, programmes, finance and assets of UAIA according to agreed procedures.
• Ensure the smooth and efficient organization and management of the human, finance and physical resources of UAIA.
• Be responsible for fundraising for UAIA and represent the Association in external meetings.
• Prepare annual work-plans, budgets and financial statements of UAIA for presentation and approval by both the Board and the General Assembly.
• Prepare progress reports on implementation of the programmes of UAIA as well as other documents for presentation to both the Board and the General Assembly.
• Manage communication, branding and website of the Association.
• Organize, plan and manage all the meetings of UAIA.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned to him or her by the Board.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The ideal candidate must hold an advanced degree in Environment and Natural Resources Management, sociology and related field.
• A minimum of eight years of relevant management experience.
• Membership to a Professional Institution is an added advantage.

• Good information, technology and communication skills.
