Pearl Dairy is a fast-growing Ugandan company specializing in the production of nutritious high-quality products. The company started its operations in 2013 as a B2B milk powder manufacturer supplying to East Africa, but has grown its brand, Lato Milk, from a B2B product to a branded house of products offering a variety of high quality B2B and B2C nutritious products in the East African region and beyond.

We source raw milk from more than 10,000 smallholder farmers in Uganda and 5,000 in Kenya and sell across 10 countries in Africa and Asia. We have grown to become Uganda’s largest dairy processor, providing dairy extension services to 1600+ farmers directly and collecting over 30% of milk directly from individual farmers.

We are seeking for a self driven individual to fill the position of a Graphic Designer in Mbarara, Uganda. This is part of our growth agenda as we diversify our brands. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing packaging materials as per the standards of the Organization.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Collaboration: Work closely with social marketing team to understand product requirements, target audience, and marketing objectives, translating them into compelling packaging designs.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all packaging designs adhere to relevant industry regulations and guidelines, including product labeling and nutritional information.
• Quality Assurance: Review and approve packaging proofs and prototypes to ensure they meet design specifications and print quality standards.
• Print Production: Liaise with printing vendors and suppliers to oversee the production process, including color accuracy and print quality.
• Design Software: Utilize industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) to edit packaging designs.

Qualifications and Competencies Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
• 2 to 4 years’ experience in packaging design.
• Ability to keep time and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in graphic design software, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Strong understanding of printing processes and materials.
• Exceptional creativity and an eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
