JOB DETAILS:
Activities
• Monitor and analyze existing and upcoming national/international laws and regulations that may impact the company.
• Conduct legal research.
• Provide timely legal opinions and support for company operations.
• Prepare, draft, and review contracts, documents, and correspondence.
• Participate in negotiations with service providers, contractors, and public authorities.
• Support litigation processes, including dispute resolution.
• Coordinate with external counsel and internal departments for legal matters.
• Identify legal risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Share knowledge through legal staff training and awareness sessions.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of legal documents.
• Prepare weekly, quarterly, and annual legal reports.
• Oversee the signing of contracts and payment of legal fees/invoices.

Person Specification
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized university.
• Postgraduate diploma in Legal Practice.

Experience:
• 3–5 years of experience after graduation.
• Basic understanding of oil and gas contracts and Uganda’s legal and regulatory framework for the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in contract drafting and negotiation.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a multicultural and international environment.
